What is needed
[edit]The article as it stands is a stub, it consists only of a definition. Relevant content needs to be added, and the literature section re-evaluated.Johnkn63 (talk) 22:32, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
On topic vs Off topic
[edit]The article needs to stay on topic. The following was removed from the article because it is about the history of the Zhuang not about Zhuang studies:-
- The Zhuang are an ethnic group of people who mostly live in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. The Zhuang are indigenous peoples of the Guangxi. The name of the Zhuang minority used to be written 獞. However, the character also refers to a variety of savage, so it was considered an ethnic slur. In 1949, the "savage" radical was replaced by the "human" radical, and the character became 僮. Eventually, the character was replaced with 壮, a character already in existence meaning "sturdy" or "strong". Question on how to improve article
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I am looking to evaluate this article and everything appears relevant but the organization seems off, especially in the Features section. There were also some errors in punctuation and capitalization in the History section. Could there be more mention of Zhuang people, their language and the linguistics related to it, their cultural history, religion, etc. Would adding that be too unrelated to Zhuang Studies specifically and perhaps not right to put in this article?MilkisWack1065 (talk) 03:30, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- Where the are punctuation or grammar errors then correct the one's that you notice. Out of context mention Zhuang people, language, etc would be out of the scope of this article, these topics have their own articles, to which there should be links in the article. Before restructing you should make sure you understand the scope of the article. Most material on Zhuang studies is not in English, hence the rather unnatural forms of expression used in parts of the article, improving these would help.Johnkn63 (talk) 07:56, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
