Why Tai Chi Chuan Techniques Should not be Altered

Forgive me for not having deleted all this; I was the one who originally wrote all that stuff about Zhang Sang Feng but forgot to sign my nic. I was not careful with the editing thing, and ended up deleting the opinion I placed here as well as my own. I'm terribly sorry. I deleted the opinions I had stated earlier because I do not believe them constructive to the article.

I would never purposely delete someone else's opinions, only my own. Please delete everything I have typed here; I have nothing constructive to say, and I'm terribly sorry for the misunderstanding.

historical reality

[edit]

i have added a piece on zang sanfeng cult in China that is mostly unknown to western practitioners and commentators on the Sanfeng myth. I hope this contributes to further research to make this article more divers.(YouLiOu (talk) 06:43, 22 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

You meant well, but a lot of it is just speculation or folklores.Suredeath (talk) 00:39, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Zhang Sanfeng was indeed a historical person active around the year 1400. A 50 page research paper appearing in a university press book analyzes documents pertaining to his life. As soon as I get a chance to read the paper, I will try to add some information to balance out the legendary slant.
i am sorry for reading your reply and editing out the material i offered in stead of asking me to add materials to it as to substantiate my additions. the site of giraldo you offer as external link is doing what most western sources do, inclusing the wikipedia stub. namely mythologising everything about zhangsanfeng and figureheads like him. it only uses western sources withjout researching real historical records. the historical existence of zhang is well documented in china, there are several treatises from his hands and some are forgeries subscribed to him. he did not create taijiquan, that part is myth, he did not study in shaolin, that part is myth. he was a historian, similar like laozi who was a myth from the beginning. he wrote a text on politics suggesting a marriage between politics and health sc ience, sports and lifestyle to provide wellbeing for the people, referring to daoist neijia practices. he became deified after his death and that is the foundation of wudangpai in shiyan county, hubei, china. i hope you can appreciate that otherwise you actually falsify history by letting on a western myth in stead of hsitorical chinese reality. San Feng Tan Cheueh (Zhang Sanfeng's Instructions in the Physiological Alchemy)

This book is mentioned at http://www.sexarchive.info/GESUND/ARCHIV/SEN/CH23.HTM

Does anyone know if this is the same person or a coincidence of same name? If different, who existed when? 174.92.133.241 (talk) 07:31, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mythology and Lack of Citation

[edit]

This page is a mess of mythology. It lacks academic credence and adherence to Wikipedia policy. Academic papers on Zhang San Feng prove very different than much of the holy worship written here. I ask those editors who seriously fix things on WP to help me clean up this mess. TommyKirchhoff (talk) 14:26, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
