Notability Requirements
[edit]Zahia Kaddoura is an academic, so I have relied on the Notability requirements for academics. Kaddoura meets WP:PROF#C5 through her appointment as Dean of the Lebanese University, the first woman to hold the position. Salukk (talk) 17:52, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- WP:PROF#C5 is about "named chair", which to me sounds like an academic or research achievement, whereas Kaddoura was a "dean", which is typically more of an administrative position. The more relevant guideline is WP:PROF#C6 and that specifically says
Lesser administrative posts (provost, dean, department chair, etc.) are generally not sufficient to qualify under Criterion 6 alone, although exceptions are possible on a case-by-case basis
. Because she is the first woman to hold that position I think an exception can be made for her.VR talk 02:32, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Overall: Great DYK nomination! I think it is good to go. But I just need a second opinion on whether the subject of this article meets WP:NOTABILITY. The coverage is not very significant. Subject is probably notable, see Talk:Zahia Kaddoura#Notability Requirements VR talk 17:15, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- On the talk page, Salukk argues that Kaddoura meets WP:PROF#5 as Dean of the University. We think that is equivalent to named chair in Lebanon and also notable as a woman in 1971. QuakerSquirrel (talk) 18:08, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks and I've commented there, I think she is notable and I'm approving this nom. good job everyone!VR talk 02:36, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
