[edit]I'm pretty sure Dana's "Wood Island" is Angel Island (California). Both may fit the description of the island in the text, but he mentions the locals call it Isla de los Angeles. --LowRise (talk) 18:51, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Hudson's Bay Company history
[edit]Hi; there was a Hudson's Bay Company post in San Francisco Bay, always referred to as Yerba Buena....it it correct ot assume it was located on this island? If so, some of its history should be here, although there's a growing series of articles on separate HBC posts/forts.....the post may not have been on the island but maybe the name was applied to another location on the Bay? I'm not familiar enough with California history to be able to add anything, and I haven't seen enough on the post in HBC sources, which focus more on OR/BC etc, to be able to write up even a stub on it. Anyone here know anything about this?Skookum1 (talk) 13:54, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Goat or Coat?
[edit]I have a Jane's Almanac where the island is named C-oat, not G-oat. Thanks. 151.29.138.86 (talk) 13:36, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
