Ye or She? Or should different page title be used instead?
[edit]The surname has not always been pronounced 'Ye'. The surname was originally derived from a place called 葉縣, where 葉 was pronounced 'shè' in Mandarin. It was only later on the surname is pronounced as same as the meaning for 'leaf', or 'yè' in Mandarin.(1) That means historically some people should be transliterated as 'She' rather than 'Ye', including Duke of Ye, whom would be Duke of She. This change even affects Koreans who have taken the same surname but have different pronunciations(2), and Buddhist term Mahākāśyapa (摩訶迦葉). The imprecise transcription of the wiki title fails to address this issue.
