Writing Batman Hongkong?

[edit]
He also wrote Batman: Hong Kong

CMIIW, AFAIK, he was not the writer. Dough Moench was the writer and Tony Wong did the drawing. 222.229.87.33 (talk) 04:32, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It seems there is some confusion here. The article doesn't mention he is called Tony and the various links give different names (but are they different names for the same person or similar names for different people?):
* DC list the artist as Tony Won [1]
* Love HK film list the artist as Tony Wong Yuk-Long [2]
* Lambiek gives his names as Wong Yuk-long (Tony Wong) [3]
So can we assume he is a writer and artist (as the biography on Lambiek seems to match the details given) who also drew Batman: Hong Kong? Or are we getting two people with the same name confused? I so who did what?

This IGN review says "It's drawn by a popular Hong Kong-based artist and publisher, Tony Wong (a.k.a. Wong Yuk Long)" so I think we are safe to assume they are the same person. I'll change the link to artist and if we are looking at two people we can work on fixing things further. (Emperor (talk) 21:31, 17 June 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Firstly, Tony Wong and Wong Yuk Long are the same person. Believe me. I am in Indonesia and his comics are published in Indonesia.
Secondly, although Tony Wong is an artist and also a writer (and sometimes he just direct other artist to draw like what he does on recent comics), in Batman Hongkong, he only drawn it, not wrote the story. The story itself was written by Doug Moench. Look at the DC page [4] Kunderemp (talk) 17:08, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think Buddha's Palm was based on Gu Yong's novel. In Buddha's Palm, there was no twin at all! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.113.199.242 (talk) 06:28, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Tony Wong" or "Wong Yuk-long"

[edit]

Which should be the primary name? SCMP here uses "Tony Wong Yuk-long" https://www.scmp.com:443/news/hong-kong/education-community/article/1886285/hong-kong-comics-godfather-tony-wong-yuk-long although a Young Post article used "Wong Yuk-long" WhisperToMe (talk) 18:19, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/cartoonist-tony-wong-chun-loong-24-mar-99-news-photo/1126377010 states "Tony Wong Chun-loong (Wong Yuk-long)", so "Tony Wong Yuk-long" and "Tony Wong Chun-loong" are the same guy WhisperToMe (talk) 03:25, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
