Wizzard's Brew, NOT Wizzard Brew. This has been corrected. Anazgnos 22:30, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

dave griffiths was also a wizzard drummer , he is not mentioned.

Is the photo some kind of vandalism?

[edit]

This article has a photograph. The caption is "Wizzard", but the photo certainly isn't of a British rock band. It's just some photo of some guy. Perhaps someone uploaded their photo here as a joke?

It's certainly not a photo of Roy Wood. Indeed, it looks a lot like an amateur photo taken on somebody's webcam....

From the file history, it appears that this hasn't changed in a long time, although I'm not sure, because Wikipedia art file histories have always perplexed me. (According to the article history, this article has used wizzard.jpg since before 15 September 2006, and yet according to the art file history, wizzard.jpg wasn't created until 30 January 2007. Confusing.) — Lawrence King (talk) 01:41, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Per discussion here, the picture is fake. I have deleted it from this page. The art file still lives here, but is no longer linked to anything. — Lawrence King (talk) 04:54, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hard times?

[edit]

I once read somewhere that about 15 years ago, a member of Wizzard was living out of a rented bedsit and on the rock. Something about the record company writing the royalty contract in such a way unfavourable to the artists. Or maybe I just imagined it. 91.85.57.191 (talk) 21:43, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hunt's departure

[edit]

At this distance in time it's probably impossible to verify any details, but this article claims Hunt left in autumn 1973, rather than 1974 – and if he left to become a music teacher, that time of year rings true. Harfarhs (talk) 09:57, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"You Got Me Running"

[edit]

The confusion over "You Got Me Running" being a single may have arisen because it appears on the 1999 compilation Singles A's And B's: [1] Martinevans123 (talk) 18:28, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly was a track on the Introducing Eddy and the Falcons album [2], but I am not aware of it being released as a single (A or B-side); although, as Martin states, its appearance on the Singles A's And B's compilation is enough to confuse. (Being a massive Roy Wood fan, nothing much gets past me). - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 19:46, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hard to believe no article yet Broadcast 27 December 1973.... how did it even end?! lol. Martinevans123 (talk) 20:24, 2 April 2024 (UTC)} [reply]
Maybe it was scheduled as a single, but never made it to the UK shops. There are discographies in Record Collector (RC) issues 80 and 180. I have both of these, boxed up somewhere. RC discographies normally list both sides of singles, and also indicate singles that were only released in non-UK markets. They also list UK singles that were promo-only or cancelled before release. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:28, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, maybe. But surprised no evidence at 45cat.com. I guess "cancelled before release" not really a single? Martinevans123 (talk) 20:35, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This edit first introduced the 'single' to the article in June 2014, and was by an editor who was subsequently blocked indefinitely in March 2019 for disruptive editing. Anyhow, Record Collector may throw up some obscurity from somewhere - we will see. Thanks. - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 21:03, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes you can find old issues of RC at record fairs or secondhand record shops. Watch out for issue 80, April 1986 and issue 180, August 1994. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:55, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Christmas Everyday/Every Day

[edit]

Has anyone got a cover image showing the right spelling - see Talk:I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday#Everyday or Every Day? PamD 07:41, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not as such, but here some online variants - [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]. All these show 'Everyday' as one word, but I am certain other examples will split the word up. If that helps at all !? - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 14:03, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Derek R Bullamore: I think that PamD was expecting replies at thye other page, that's where I replied. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 15:20, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I copied most of the above wording of mine to that page. Thanks. - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 15:28, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
