[edit]Gassed? There are many secondary sources that indicate that William was gassed during his service at Bullecourt. However, his army records say his pleurisy was a pre-existing condition. Can anyone provide any primary sources that William was gassed at Bullecourt? Gillyweed (talk) 04:59, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- Would it be more appropriate to say "[...] and on 25 April he was shipped to a hospital in London where he was treated for pleurisy as well as a tuberculosis infection."? As for the gassing at Bullecourt, it is not improbable that he did develop his condition due to his participation in the trench war on the Western Front. However, I have not come across any primary sources that confirm this incident.

Update reference list?
[edit]The reference list currently lists five "NAA: B245, SHIRLEY WILLIAM THOMAS 1914-1920", each with individual pages. Should they be compiled into one single reference?
For example, instead of:
it would be:

He was by trade a stonemason and builder and had completed a five-year apprenticeship in Liverpool.[2 p. 5]
