Nationality

Sorry, not sure how this works, but William Theobald was my great grandfather, he was not an american. We are not exactly sure -- but his family was from germany at some point. I have removed "which may indicate that he was American in origin" for which there was no source. We can only use "what you know" if it is backed by reliable sources, but his family may be in a better position to find reliable sources.
