biography
[edit]there's much more in the references biography by g.h. parker, i only had the time to extract info until circa p.205. anyone? :) --Sarefo (talk) 19:18, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Much more to add
[edit]The authoritative biography is
- Evans, Mary A. and Howard H. (1999). William Morton Wheeler, Biologist. New York: iUniverse. ISBN 1583483128.

- I agree. Incidentally I wonder whether or not we should have an article on the book also. James H. Jones's biography of entomologist Alfred C. Kinsey was Pulitzer nominated so is eligible for an article. Has this book won/was nominated for any similar prize? Solomon7968 08:02, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

Spaces and authorlinks
[edit]Burklemore1, you are supposed to leave a talk page note while unilaterally changing citation templates, per WP:CITEVAR. I am happy to forgive this as I believe the edits did indeed improved the article, except removing E. O. Wilson's quote which you are yet to add.
However your rationale for removing spaces and authorlinks borders on lying. It has nothing to do with expanding the rest of the article; if you have any hidden motive behind this please say so. And again you are supposed to discuss here per WP:BRD.
I am taking the liberty here to ping some Ant-interested editors: Jonkerz, JMK, Sean.hoyland, Mattximus, Lasius, Smartse, Casliber, Dyanega, Hillbillyholiday, GameKeeper, Kevmin, Sarefo, Shyamal, Stemonitis. Solomon7968 07:37, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but isn't imposing a single consistent style generally helpful, because that is what I am doing. You dare to accuse me for being a liar, I didn't know you couldn't expand and fix at the same time? Hm, I guess I learn something new everyday. Perhaps I should have clarified this better, but to think I'm a liar? Laughable. Burklemore1 (talk) 12:19, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
- Solomon7968 you appear to be editwring on irrelevant background formatting. The change in citation structure is totally viable as it improves the clarity of sourcing within the referenced works. If you feel the Quote is important enough to the article, it should be placed in the prose, not placed into a reference at the end of the article. Also stop with the assumption of bad faith and personal attacks (re: "borders on lying...") --Kevmin § 15:21, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
- I hadn't raised any issues with change in citation format although we are mandated to leave a talk page note here. The issue is with the unexplained removal of spaces and authorlinks. Solomon7968 16:12, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you Kevmin. All sources should remain consistent, which is what I am doing. Burklemore1 (talk) 08:07, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
