– or William Francis Thompson (ichthyologist) or William Francis Thompson (fisheries scientist) for the first one, or William Francis Thompson (magistrate), William Francis Thompson (civil servant) or William Francis Thompson (writer) for the second one. The William Francis Thompson who was born in 1810 was also a published poet, so William Thompson (poet) is arguably WP:incomplete disambiguation unless we assume consistency over whether "Francis" would always be included. There is also William Francis Kynaston Thompson, although his name seems to always include a "K." or "Kynaston". None of these three articles gets more than one page view per day (shown here), so it's hard to consider the 20th-century biologist really dominant over the 19th-century philologist. Wikipedia doesn't ordinarily use lifespan ranges for disambiguation of people. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:01, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
