The result of the move request was: consensus to move the article to Will Campbell (Baptist minister), per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 03:59, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
Will D. Campbell → William Davis Campbell – there is also a William D. Campbell I am nominating to move to William Durant Campbell. There is a notable William Douglas Campbell who needs to be disambiguated at this middle initial. ScratchMarshall (talk) 00:13, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. Subject was known to the public as Will D. Campbell. It was his pen name and it was the name by which he was referenced. There is no indication that he used the full form William Davis Campbell. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 00:28, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. Subject was known to the public as Will Campbell (Baptist minister) see Will Campbell, Preacher Man: Essays in the Spirit of a Divine Provocateur etc. and less commonly with the D. counter propose Will Campbell (Baptist minister). In ictu oculi (talk) 19:00, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose, but support In ictu oculi's proposed name, and support Will D. Campbell ultimately pointing to a dab page. Further explanation:
- Will Campbell or Will D. Campbell is overwhelmingly the WP:COMMONNAME.

- However, I agree with ScratchMarshall that Will D. Campbell is too ambiguous, so I agree that it should be or redirect to another WP:DAB page.
- ScratchMarshall is suggesting natural disambiguation, whereas In ictu oculi is suggesting parenthetical disambiguation. While the need for disambiguation may override common name in some cases, in this case, the alternate name Will or William Davis Cambell is very rarely used except for:

- Looking at WP:NAMINGCRITERIA, I support In ictu oculi's proposed parenthetical disambiguation. Daask (talk) 12:43, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONAME. Support move to Will Campbell (Baptist minister). -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:16, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- Nominator here, I support a move to (Baptist minister) too, I don't have any problems with parenthesis but I just never know what to propose to put in between those brackets. ScratchMarshall (talk) 20:26, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
