McShane ?

There is a Whitney theorem on extending smooth extensions.
There is McShane theorem on extending Lipschitz or Hoelder functions (see the citation on the article page: McShane, Edward James (1934), "Extension of range of functions", Bull. Amer. Math. Soc. 40: 837–842). I also read about Whitney having this Lipschitz extensions about the same year, which supports that something could be called McShane-Whitney, but not a theorem on extending smooth functions.
Some other references are surprising to me.
