First album without Dan Bejar

[edit]

I think there may be a bit of a citogenesis incident under way regarding Dan Bejar's absence from the record. As far as I can tell, this hasn't been officially announced by the band, or reported in any major music publication.

A few days ago, an anonymous editor updated The New Pornographers speculating that Bejar wasn't in the band's latest promotional photos, and therefore would not be appearing on the new record. No citation was provided, making it original research at best and pure guesswork at worst. This edit went a day or two without being corrected, and was widely cited elsewhere on the internet as evidence Bejar had left the band.

It's worth noting that Bejar has rarely (if ever) appeared in the band's official photos.

Right now this article provides two references for the statement that Bejar has left the band. an article from Spin which doesn't mention Bejar, and an article from a blog called Diffuser which seems to have used Wikipedia itself as their primary source. I think it would be prudent to either find a better source for the claim Bejar won't be appearing on the album, or remove the sentence from the article for the time being. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:6520:2F:9C98:A58:D793:A072 (talk) 20:39, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
