Still needs a lot of work

[edit]

I've worked some on the article, but it still needs a good deal of work. Before I started, it was written as a record review instead of an encyclopedia article. Most of the "record review" type prose remains and needs to be rewritten. Bubba73 (talk), 04:24, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

details

[edit]

I can't find the name of the bass player between Fisher and Souza, but the name Robbi Barrie comes to mind. Does anyone know? Also, I don't know many details after Richardson left, just that the group continued on with Goodert and Pendergrass and others for a few years. There used to be interviews with each of the original members on their website, but they are gone. Bubba73 (talk), 13:45, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found it: Rabbi Barbee. Bubba73 (talk), 05:55, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

George Brawley

[edit]

The way understood it, guitarist George Brawley played on the second album, but was never a member of the group. Is that correct? Bubba73 (talk), 05:54, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rdundancy that is not needed

[edit]

The new paragraph that begins with "New musicians were added ..." is partially redundant with the first paragraph under History - the information needs to be combined, and the redundancy that is not needed should be taken out. Bubba73 (talk), 00:01, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

reads like a record review

[edit]

The sentences comparing WW music to Donald Fagen's Nightfly sound more like a record review than an encyclopedia article. Also some of the other material sound more like personal opinion than an encyclopedia article ("As the story usually goes for unique bands that pushed the musical envelope in that era...". This needs to be fixed. Bubba73 (talk), 03:18, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:WhiteWitchSpiritualGreeting.jpg

[edit]

Image:WhiteWitchSpiritualGreeting.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Use of album cover

[edit]

As I understand it, album covers may be used under fair use to illustrate the album in question. White Witch's albums do not have separate wikipedia entries, but are each described in some detail in this article. So it seems appropriate to use the cover of their 1st album here, since it illustrates not only the album but the members of the band. Zeng8r (talk) 00:32, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is OK too. The critical part is: "Cover art: Cover art from various items, for identification only in the context of critical commentary of that item (not for identification without critical commentary)." So there has to be some "critical commentary", whatever that means. Bubba73 (Who's attacking me now?), 01:46, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've added some critical commentary from Rolling Stone, even though it is way off the mark. Bubba73 (Who's attacking me now?), 01:57, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
