Fair use rationale for Image:Wwshs seal.jpg

[edit]

Image:Wwshs seal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WikiProject class rating

[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 10:42, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCleaner

[edit]

Used WikiCleaner to correct the wikilinks that were to old page names. Left the red links, since maybe someone will create a new page for those people/topics. Added to Category:Wheaton, Illinois. No other changes, please do not revert! See: Disambiguation link repair - (You can help!) Funandtrvl (talk) 20:19, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment

[edit]

It has been requested that I assess this article, it has so far only been bot assessed as Start class. Given the amount of content this at least deserves C-class. Reviewing it against the B-Class criteria I would say it is generally suitably referenced (criteria 1), some gaps apparent in architecture and academics but still good enough for B-class, it covers the topic well, nothing major seems to be missing (criteria 2), well structured (criteria 3), article seems to follow the WP:MOS okay (criteria 4), has enough images (criteria 5), and is understandable to users who had not previously heard of the school (criteria 6). So overall, seems to be a B-class pass and a potential GA candidate. This article history and alumni certainly merit giving it High importance, though this is not overwhelming enough, nor does the school have enough international recognition for Top importance at this time. Wheaton Central HS on Tiger Trail is *not* Wheaton-Warrenville High school on Weisbrook Road.

[edit]

Wheaton Central HS was Wheaton Community High School. It is located on Tiger Trail in downtown Wheaton, IL. The Belushi brothers, Bob Woodward (of Watergate fame), and Red Grange attended this school. I attended Wheaton Central in 1972-1973 and Bob Woodward spoke of the Watergate scandal at the high school. In 1973-74 a new high school opened, Wheaton-Warrenville. The district tried to call the school Wheaton South, so the 3 schools would be Wheaton- North, South, and Central. The small community of Warrenville objected and the name was changed. I graduated in 1975 from this school. It operated for awhile, was converted to a middle school and later re-opened as a high school under the name Wheaton-Warrenville South. The building on Tiger Trail that was the original high school has been demolished. The confusion that these 2 schools are the same one might be due to the district holding the graduation records at one location as the schools were opened and closed.Xefirah (talk) 21:38, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
