May be mistaken for Westinghouse Electric Company

I noticed this when I was looking for information on Westinghouse being purchased by Toshiba. I was not originally aware that there were two articles, specifically this one and http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Westinghouse_Electric_Company. It may be wise to at least post a link at the top, before the disambiguation.

Renamed?

The article says BNFL "confusingly renamed" the nuclear acquisition to Westinghouse Electric Company. This is either incorrect or perhaps the company was renamed to, then away, then back to Westinghouse Electric Company.

I worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation back when they bought CBS. It was this corporation that divided itself into two companies: Westinghouse Electric Corporation, which was the broadcasting portion, and Westinghouse Electric Company, which was the nuclear et al company. (I worked for the nuclear fuel division of the corporation (and then of the company when it was split off).) I left the company before they renamed themselves to CBS and before BNFL bought the nuclear company. Thus, I'm not 100% sure the name wasn't changed in the interim, but the name was certainly Westinghouse Electric Company before BNFL and is certainly the name now under BNFL. It seems most likely that the name was continuous and that BNFL did 'not' rename the company but rather kept the name it was given at its formation by the parent Westinghouse Electric Corporation. --Paul 63.237.124.70 02:14, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

Toshiba buyout

Perhaps this is the venue for the Toshiba buyout? --Ancheta Wis 11:26, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

No, actually it should be the power plant company Westinghouse Electric Company. 11:29, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Merger with Westinghouse Digital Electronics

Someone proposed that this be merged with Westinghouse Digital Electronics.

No, Westinghouse Digital Electronics has nothing to do with Westinghouse Electric except that the former licenses its name from the latter. Operations are completely separate -- the only connection is the trademark. Jkatzen 07:06, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
I agree two differnet things, I removed the tag.--MNAdam 04:25, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
