Western State Photo

I have found the following image of Western State from 1942 Image:Western State College Gunnison, CO.jpg. I was going to add the picture to the article, but it seems that this article os a bit long on infoboxes and a bit short on text, making the placement of any images difficult. Western State's "W" is nation's largest

The giant "W" adorning Tenderfoot Mountain south of Gunnison, Colorado is the nation's largest college letter being something like 300' x 400'. Traditionally freshmen are sent up the treacherous road to line the edges of the letter with diesel waste. It is ignited during the homecoming bonfire. Each springtime WSC students ascend to whitewash both the letter and often, each other. Skysox 17:39, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Oppose – we do not go by branding efforts, unless it is a WP:COMMONNAME. As of right now, I can't see where "Western Colorado University" is the common name. The university's facebook, twitter, and primary website do not count as "sources". We need newspapers articles, TV station articles, etc.... reports from the media. Weak Support it seems that usage is shifting (though that will be easier to tell in 2-3 months), and the school's president claims people already used "Western Colorado" [2]. The current name has only been used since 2012 [3]. power~enwiki (π, ν) 18:54, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
