Thunder and Shadow

[edit]

I was just wondering if anyone has started to make a part in the article for the new book, Thunder and Shadow. I know it was just released this month, so I'm not expecting an answer to this yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PitbullAJWarriorsSurvivorsLover (talkcontribs) 20:37, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good article

[edit]

I temporarily removed good article from the page because it currently has lots of issues, a good article can't have issues. Also, there is a chunk of unreferenced stuff.117.232.108.17 (talk) 18:52, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I havw added a Good article reassesment request for this article, there are 2 sections which doesn't have even a single reference. Hopefully the problems can be fixed. King Prithviraj II (talk) 14:10, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Responding to the request. The article is massive and lacking in many references. I feel it is a long way from GA status. Will ping @Derild4921: the editor that brought it to Good Article status first before opening a formal assessment. AIRcorn (talk) 04:46, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Descriptions/Synopsis needs to be shortened

[edit]

The biggest issue plaguing this page right now is that entire books are being explained in great detail in their sections on this page. I'm not sure how to shorten them all effectively but i'm pretty sure we shouldn't have entire, spoilerific entries on here. If anyone with a little more knowledge on what's an appropriate amount of info for a Wikipedia article would like to make these changes, please do! I have already shortened a few sections for some of the mini-stories as I can only assume what was there before was essentially the whole book (since they were short books anyway). This article looks good at a glance but is actually a mess of TOO MUCH INFORMATION! DrAaronStein (talk) 16:54, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Warriors" or "Warrior Cats"?

[edit]

I see the same series of books, in English, with both the "Warriors" and the "Warrior Cats" series title. (Do a Google image search for "Forest of Secrets" to see what I mean.) Is this an old vs new series name, or maybe British vs American? The Wikipedia article doesn't mention "Warrior Cats" at all, but the official website is listed as warriorcats.com. I would love to see this clarified in the Wikipedia article. --Peter (talk) 20:12, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell, "Warrior Cats" is the original, U.K. title and "Warriors" is the U.S. title. Oornery (talk) 01:32, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
From my understanding having read the books since around 2006, I think that the term "Warrior Cats" has mainly been used to distinguish the series from other properties such as The Warriors (1979) film or book and various sports teams that use the name "Warriors". The only books I've seen listed as "Warrior Cats" were translations and the only ones showing the text untranslated were the German versions for some reason. New Timeline Visuals

[edit]

As some of you may remember, there used to be some visuals on this page that were essentially a timeline of Warriors books. However, they only went up to Darkest Night from series 6 if I remember correctly, and I notice that they have recently been removed. I organized each Warriors book into chronological order, with the intent of making a new timeline. Here is the books in order, if someone wants to make a timeline for them. I added each small novella as its own separate part on the list, rather than list the bind-up it came in separately. I also listed some books/stories that have yet to come out (eg The Place of No Stars, Blackfoot's Reckoning, etc).

If we do a visual Blubewwy, the books with no set dates should maybe have their own section? They encompass a wide range of times, and are not really a story, but more of a guide or a handbook. Also, thank you for putting the unpublished books on the list, that way we wont be behind for a bit. lighstreame (talk) 03:41, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi everyone. So, there were a couple issues, from my perspective, with the timeline graphics. The first is that they were not well-made, with a lot of overlapping components, and overall, were fairly difficult to read. The second is that, supposing a cleaner graphic could be made, I'm not sure that having a timeline is going to add very much to a general reader of the topic. My perspective is that we are aiming to be comprehensive, yes, but also not to be overinclusive of detail. Certainly, having that kind of detail might be nice for readers who are familiar with the topic, but the question would be whether that level of detail is more appropriate for somewhere where the scope is more focused simply on Warriors (for example, the Warriors Wiki).
In any case, if someone does want to try to attempt making a timeline, I would personally suggest trying to figure out and use Template:Include timeline, which will create a Wikicode timeline that would probably be easier to edit as new books are published (instead of having to track down whoever made the original timeline image and get them to edit it and re-upload every single time a new book comes out). The timelines this code can create can look like the one here, for example: Graphical timeline from Big Bang to Heat Death. I would suggest using your own sandbox as a place to try experimenting on that before trying to do it on the actual article though, as it might get a bit messy learning how to use this more complex code. Some thought/debate also needs to happen about how books are going to placed on the timeline, as some of them overlap in terms of time, and some include time skips. New Books?

[edit]

The book The Darkness Within was released on November 10th 2020, and today is November 14th. When will it be updated? If soon, I might be able to give a basic-ish synopsis. lighstreame (talk) 17:53, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome to be bold and make this edit yourself! Brambleclawx 01:49, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warrior Code

[edit]

We need to put the Warrior Code in somewhere. I'd do it myself, but I'm not entirely sure how it goes. Pinging @Brambleclawx: and @Brambleberry of RiverClan:. Ex-Borg Seven of Nine (talk) 13:25, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rosefeather; I don't think we actually need to put the warrior code into the article. That level of in-universe detail is generally considered excessive for a Wikipedia article (the perspective being, if someone didn't know anything about Warriors came to read about this article, they would be interested in learning about things like a general idea of what the plots are about, who the authors are and what inspired them, associated media, etc., but unless they were an actual reader of the series, they generally wouldn't be interested in, or even really understand, what the warrior code is, if we just presented it as a list within the article). That's my opinion, anyway. Brambleclawx 03:33, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I guess that's true, but I was thinking that readers would want to know what Warriors is all about. The warrior code represents that beautifully. Rosefeather of WindClan (talk) 13:37, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Maps

[edit]

Does someone want to add the map images? I don't know the image addresses and my browser is blocked (long story about how I get onto WP), or I'd do it myself.

Thanks, Rosefeather of WindClan (talk) 20:44, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The map images are under copyright by HarperCollins, and I don't think it meets criteria for "fair-use". It's also too in-universe to be meaningful to most readers, and I'm not aware of the map having been discussed by a major third-party source in a way that would make a discussion of the map notable in the article. Inconsistencies in the way dates are written

[edit]

Hello! I'm putting this here because it's an issue across multiple Warriors articles on Wikipedia. Some articles are written with the date format Americans use (example: February 4, 2008), and some are written with the format British people use (example: 1 June 2004). I know it was stated that this specific article uses the British format in order to mirror the original British publication of the Warriors series, but if that is the case, should all Warriors articles undergo this change as well, in order to remain consistent? Blubewwy (talk) 17:34, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect from Warriors

[edit]

Why isn't there a redirect from the page Warriors to this article instead of redirecting to Warrior? Or maybe a Disambiguation page? --Asozialebohne (talk) 18:32, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Asozialebohne,
I noticed that too, it is kind of irritating and frustrating that there isn't because it causes you to have to enter in the name ONCE AGAIN. 76.145.181.225 (talk) 04:23, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the new animation deal

[edit]

The content said Coolabi Production signed a deal with 'Tencent Pictures' even though in the 2 citation articles, it was 'Tencent Video'. Was it an error from the citation article or was it an error by the wiki content? Since the two company were indeed under the same umbrella, Tencent, but were separate. Tencent Video is a streaming service (similar to Netflix) while Tencent Pictures is a production and distributor. I'll change it for now to follow the citation, if there's anything, feel free to clarify here. BlueHelvetical (talk) 05:26, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think that was just a mistake on the end of whoever first mentioned the deal in the article. Thanks for fixing it. Blubewwy (talk) 12:48, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you're asking for Changing Skies to be added to the lead section of the article, the reason it's not in there yet is because it's not released yet. Blubewwy (talk) 18:26, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Looking towards the ‘Dark Forest’ mention

[edit]

Starclan is mentioned being cat ‘Heaven’ and so ideally, the Dark Forest should be mentioned as ‘Cat Hell’ to show the notable differences between the two. Cranberry3456 (talk) 09:29, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Cranberry3456 That is a good point. I've added it to the article. Blubewwy (talk) 17:26, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
