ecw

[edit]

didn't vickie say shouldn't smackdown and ecw have a womans championship. And kelly kelly and layla competed in the golden dreams match which determine the #1 contenders. So doesnt that means kelly kelly who is in ecw ebligable to win the championship. That means because the talant exchange ecw can compete for this championship. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bam2311 (talkcontribs) 00:31, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I know in the last golden dreams match Kelly Kelly was one of the opponents.(Master King (talk) 06:33, 7 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Kelly Kelly is now on Raw.--WWEFAN99 (talk) 13:21, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
He's right, though. Look what happened with the WWE tag team titles. ECW divas will doubtless compete for this new belt just as much as the Smackdown ones do due to the 'talent exchange'.
Smackdown and ECW have effectively merged now to become Smackdown/ECW. --The Machine (talk) 16:15, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No longer needs a discussion as ecw has no divas 1362talk 16:25, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Except that in September it will unmerge - ECW will be recorded with RAW. 87.127.178.28 (talk) 11:58, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Except for Lena Yada but she dosnt wrestle, and would not have any one to face her.--User:WWEFAN99 (talk) 12:28, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article has mistakes

[edit]

The WWE Women's Title was exclusive to Raw yes, but there were a few occasions where women from SmackDown competed for it. Ashley Massaro had a Women's title match at Wrestlemania while she was apart of SmackDown, and there were a couple of other occasions too. This should be noted because the article saying that women from SmackDown were unable to compete for the title is false. TonyFreakinAlmeida (talk) 19:13, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While this exception certainly needs to be noted as it's true, does nobody else think the way it currently is is very sloppy? "The title was brand exclusive unless your name is Ashley or Melina" (paraphrase) Wouldn't it be more proper to note that it was a Raw brand exclusive belt, although at times owing to the Diva division being so small this rule was ignored. Tony2Times (talk) 19:09, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, be bold. That's what is there for you know. And I gotta agree, it does read weirdly. ♥NiciVampireHeart00:20, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So, who supports a move to WWE Divas Championship? -- iMatthew T.C. 12:15, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have put forward a requested move on the talk page, so I wouldn't mind if I get some feedback over there as well please. -- Oakster  Talk  17:35, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

 Done

Aired date?

[edit]

Why is aired date is included even when it was live on tv? Its common sense that it was a the ppv!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lachine (talkcontribs) 04:22, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because SD is taped and sometimes the title will change hands on tapings. It is just how it is done.--WillC 04:28, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Every article on a wrestling championship shows the "Aired Date", why should this title be exempt from that information cell? User:NickNitro

I really think it's still double information, not useful!

Then you should bring up your disagreement in all championship pages. There is still no reason why this one should be exempt from 'Date Aired' As stated before SmackDown is taped, so if the title were to ever change hands on the show, the 'Date Won' and 'Date Aired' would be 3 days difference. User:NickNitro

unsigned comment added by Lachine (talkcontribs) 07:48, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It will be once the title changes hands on a SmackDown! taping. Besides, the is the standard formatting for these articles/tables. ♥NiciVampireHeart11:31, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

exclusive?

[edit]

no. the womens title was originally supposed to be defended on both brands (like the wwe title originally was) but nothing ever came of it. KP317 21:50, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Championship Table

[edit]

I changed the list of champion's table so that it was the same as all of the other list of champion tables.--DonJuan.EXE (talk) 23:14, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spoilers???

[edit]

If the title changes on Smackdown, should you post the results before they air? I haven't read spoilers but I know now that Maryse has won the title thanks to whoever updated the page before it aired. 167.239.216.66 (talk) 15:37, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IP, we were all spoiled about that, which is very annoying. ayematthew 15:52, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spoilers are allowed provided there is a reliable source, which there is. ♥NiciVampireHeart15:48, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keeping the Title

[edit]

Regarding the last line saying how WWE has not revealed whether or not Maryse will keep the title because Trish kept hers during injury in 2005, Trish kept hers because at the time other than Victoria, there were no opponents for the Women's title as Gail Kim, Jazz and Nidia had been fired, Molly Holly had left and Lita was injured and beginning her Matt and Edge situation. Smackdown right now has many competetitors for the Divas Championship: Victoria, Natalya and Gail Kim are over qualified to win it and Maria and Michelle McCool are the type of Divas it seems they made the belt for (Diva Search Girls). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.165.155.89 (talk) 00:06, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Heaviest Champion?

[edit]

C'mon, Mickie James HAS to weigh more than Jillian. Seriously.

Besides, McCool weighs 138, despite what shes billed at.

75.45.178.27 (talk) 10:55, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Got a source for any of these weights?--WillC 04:25, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nidida and Torrie's title shots

[edit]

Nidia and Torrie both received Womens title shots against Molly Holly in 2002 on Smackdown!. At this time, the womens champ defended the title on both brands, hence the rule was not bypassed at the time. Trish Stratus made appearances on Smackdown! as well when she was champion. I have edited the article to reflect this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.201.174.239 (talk) 21:24, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Heaviest Weighing Champion

[edit]

Michelle McCool?

This has got to be a joke.

New page

[edit]

Shouldn't the Unified Divas Championship get its own page? I mean, the Unified Tag Team Championship received its own page. It looks like somebody just changed the title of the Divas Championship page to make it the Unified Divas Championship page. -- CollisionCourse (talk) 20:27, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There shouldn't be a new page until it is comfirmed there is a new title. This is completely insane. Creating new articles for no reason when the changes can be easier and more effective by just listing the unification on both pages.--WillC 21:25, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes there should, there is a new title, should be a new page, plz create one and it will be one of the few wikipedia articles that are real and not made up! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.176.244.183 (talk) 23:04, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's no need for a new page and such a page would be content forking anyway this page here is just fine,--Steam Iron 23:12, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Contrary to popularly held beliefs out there, Michelle McCool is NOT the WWE Divas' Champion

[edit]

Layla is the current WWE Divas' Champion, as she defeated, I believe, Beth Phoenix back around April or May when the title was still separate from the now defunct Women's Championship, in a 2-on-1 handicap match for the title where it was declared that whoever gained the pinfall if Layla or Michelle did, would be the new Divas' Champion.

I know the common arguments will be, "Michelle is the only one who's defended it at pay-per-views" and "It's a different title (no, it's not, sorry, nice try...) from the old Divas' Championship. I believe action should be taken to rectify this information in the infobox so as to make this article as accurate as humanly possible. Thank You and Good day. 216.157.195.66 (talk) 19:45, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heaviest Champion

[edit]

Natalya Neidhart's weight exceeds Michelle McCool's. I've changed this. McCool weighs 127 lb and Neidhart weigh 135 lb. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.25.152.100 (talk) 13:35, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nikki Bella is the current Divas Champion, not Kelly Kelly !!

[edit]

Please adapt this, give credit to Nikki Bella as she is the currect champion (and really deserves it), thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.74.88.141 (talk) 09:42, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Articles Picture

[edit]

Michelle McCool's photo belongs up there as she was the inaugural Divas Champion, held it for two reigns that lasted over 200 days total and she unified the title with the Women's Championship.

AJ Lee's photo belongs up there as she is the longest reigning champion in the title's history, ties the record for most reigns as Divas Champion, and is the current champion.

Paige's photo does not belong up there over Melina or Maryse, who had the second longest reign. Two reigns is not unique, as Paige is one of four Divas to have done that. Also, youngest champion is not an accomplishment, especially since she only beat Alicia Fox by 2 years.

If another Diva's picture is added to this article it should be Eve Torres who ties the record for most reigns as Divas Champion and held the title for a combined 260 days. She had a greater impact on the title than Paige. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.39.231.124 (talk) 17:55, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Youngest, oldest, lightest and heaviest are barely relevant at all. There like unnecessary anecdotes. This is nothing more than minutia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiki0814 (talkcontribs) 18:18, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reigns

[edit]

It is not important who was defeated for the title by the women in this section. It is for statistics not unnecessary details. If you feel that it is important, then put it in the History section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.39.231.124 (talk) 17:57, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Don't Vandalize the Page and put Stupid Bullshit

[edit]

Someone keeps vandalizing championship pages. They put Tamina as WWE WHC, Zack Ryder as Divas Champion, "Izzy_Crazy" as US Champ, and "Izzy_Crazy as Intercontinental Champ. I've fixed most so don't worry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:B825:6940:A0BD:98B5:153A:C91D (talk) 21:19, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Women's Championship

[edit]

Since the Women's Championship has returned, all reigns for that title should go to the Women's Championship article, where it should be, and have the Divas Championship announced as retired.Jacked14 (talk) 10:41, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Diva's title is still active until the match is over. So wouldn't the person who wins the match be both the last Diva's champion and the first Women's Champion? John (talk) 01:07, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

and it should be noted that the new Women's title is just that, a new title. See here. The original women's title remains officially retired, while the championship Charlotte was awarded is a new title. So any reference to a reinstated Women's Championship is incorrect and needs to be removed. oknazevad (talk) 05:17, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
