Information vs advertisement

[edit]

I am editor who made the changes and I work for WSP group as the Group web manager. The previous version of this page contained some errors which have now been corrected.

All the information I posted on this page is contained in publicly available publications - mainly annual reports. In wikipedia there are many construction projects in which WSP Group is involved, so I think more background information on the company is beneficial to all readers.

However, I will accept any further comments and changes that can make this page more informative. GiulianoG (talk) 11:49, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for coming out and admitting that you work for WSP Group. Unfortunately, this represents a conflict of interest and your work will be subject to scrutiny. I agree that this company is notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. However, citing the company's info page is suspect at best; you need to add citations from published, secondary sources. Also, it's unacceptable to create an External Links section full of links to various WSP Group websites. Finally, you may add info to the article that is found on your company's website, but it must be reworded and made encyclopedic. Otherwise it represents a copyright violation and will be removed. For more info on these standards, please visit the pages referenced in the templates at the top of the article. BowChickaNeowNeow (talk) 16:30, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

– WSP is the name of the company brand. WSP Global Inc. is the name of the trading company in the stock exchange. There is no "WSP Global" brand officially. The article itself says the company rebranded to "WSP". Thank you! MC-WSP (talk) 20:04, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

- Created a new request to change the main WSP article name as it is suggested in a response here. It may help with disambiguation as the WSP Global article contains content related to company presence on many countries, while Global suggests content is related to the the main entity only (there is no "Global" country). Thank you for your time.

Note: pages with content, such as WSP, are ineligible to be new titles in move requests unless they, too, are dispositioned. WSPWSP (disambiguation) was added to this request to meet that requirement. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 22:48, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
