WOTH
[edit]It doesn't seem that WOTH's programming is mostly the infomercial type; see [1] for more information. I changed the text to state the two networks they are affiliated with. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs, blog) 02:57, 17 September 2005 (UTC)
WBQC shows i? I don't think so.
[edit]W9WI may say so, but I can find no i programming on WBQC's schedule, and it's not on i's affiliate list. I suspect W9WI is in error. I also think that, without firmer sources, we shouldn't say WBQC will become i in September. (It's possible it runs infomercials from i, but that's hardly a "secondary affiliation".) I'm going to start removing all reference to i from this article and from references to the station if I don't get something firmer. Morgan Wick 17:56, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Google News gives only a Cincinnati Enquirer article that indicates that it will go independent -- as in no network affiliation -- after UPN folds. Since I can't find i programming on the current schedule either, I think it's a non-affiliate of that network and we can remove such mentions -- I agree that W9WI might be a bit off here. --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 02:09, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
- Around 1999, I remember watching programming from other networks on WBQC, including America One and possibly PAX (now i) – that's how I found out about those networks. It's entirely possible that they've since dropped that programming, however. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 05:36, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, America One has since moved to WOTH-LP; that may help explain it, but probably not the W9WI listing (maybe just the fact that it didn't go with A1 to WOTH?) Morgan Wick 06:14, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Roselawn
[edit]The Enquirer says they're a "Roselawn independent station". Did they move, or is the Enquirer just talking about their transmitter station? – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 06:41, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Station management said station operations moved from Golf Manor to Roselawn. The transmitter did not move. Wiffledude (talk) 15:20, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
DT suffix
[edit]Looks like there are some articles (like KKYK-DT) that use the -DT suffix already. KKYK's story sounds similar to WOTH-DT's, in that it's not simply a digital version of the analog station. (In this case, it's two stations combined.) So eventually, it might be necessary to name the article with the -LD or -CD suffix (see North American call sign). Not now, of course. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 00:04, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Renaming this Article
[edit]I think this article should be renamed "WKRP-TV". --68.37.66.81 (talk) 15:01, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- That's just their branding; their legal call sign is still WBQC-CA. Similarly, we've kept WKRC-TV rather than Local 12, even though they no longer identify by their call sign on-air. Of course, we have redirects for both, so readers can still find what they're looking for either way. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 08:20, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
According to the FCC records databases, WBQC-LP is no longer anything but a construction permit and application. The other two records listed at [2] seem to be out of date, and they list facility IDs that are no longer recognized by any of the FCC's other databases. [3][4] According to this FCC tool, Block operates only one TV station on RF channel 20 – the one on virtual channel 25, branded "WKRP-TV". Here's the Class A renewal application from May.
So I think we should merge WBQC-LD into WOTH-CD and drop all references to WBQC (except in the history section). WOTH should refer to the overall station, not just the America One–affiliated subchannel.

Looks like Block Broadcasting has moved WKRP programming back to WBQC-LP (UHF 47, virtual 25) and is testing a separate set of subchannels on WOTH-LP (UHF 20, virtual 20). [5][6] So we'll probably have to split up this article again. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 06:01, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- WKRPTV took care of unmerging the article – thanks! – Minh Nguyễn 💬 21:02, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
