The issue is that bridges are only supported at certain points unlike normal rail track and therefore a heavy load over a short section will place a strain on the bridge and can accelerate its degradation. How this is measured is highly technical.--Grahame (talk) 01:42, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
