Inequality is missing something

As currently written, the inequality in the article is

$V_{I}(f)\leq V_{I}(f)+{\frac {1}{2}}$

which can have no useful implications. I think maybe there is a derivative missing on one of the f's? Sławomir Biały (talk) 03:04, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
