Removed reference
[edit]I had to remove a reference because the spam-filter didn't like it:

Hey, Phil, the source referenced here may not be of the highest journalistic caliber, but I'm not convinced it should be written off altogether. On what basis did you decide it should be deleted? What did your "spam-filter" not like about it?
I'm going to restore the reference for now because the preceding sentence doesn't have verifiability without it (specifically the first part of the sentence). If you feel strongly about it and think it shouldn't be used as a reference, just be sure to delete the information it supports in addition to the reference itself so the article isn't left making unverified claims. Either that or find an alternative source to support the information. Ian of Planet Earth (talk) 22:56, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
- Forgive my misunderstanding, upon trying to add the reference back into the article, I realized that thepointsguy.com is on Wikipedia's blacklist, so you weren't removing it based on your own spam-filter, but on Wikipedia's. That makes more sense.
We could request for this particular reference to get whitelisted, but based on a discussion I read about the decision to keep the website blacklisted, it seems best to avoid using it. I don't think the article loses anything essential with the removal of the information only supported by that article, which is just"Because passengers typically agree to terms of service that limit criminal liability on the part of drivers"...
, so I'll rework that sentence to only use information from the source referenced at the end of that section. Ian of Planet Earth (talk) 23:26, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
Fraudulent "cleaning" charge
[edit]I think a section concerning car rental companies employing this tactic should be added, but I'm not sure it fits the article's title. Should I add a new section, change the article's title or is there a better way to go about making this addition?
