I promise to snap a current one, if he doesn't object. I'll also ask him to contribute something from the family album for a hi-res scan. Hopefully, I will make it this month. --BACbKA17:31, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
An older picture like when he is 50 or 60 is probably better. I found of the web some really old (war time) pictures - those are probably too young and unrepresentative. Mhym20:00, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Depends on how far in the WP coverage one would like to go. I think that in a mature version of this article, if you mention his pre-war studies/research, you might want a younger photo as well. Also, a wartime section is probably a good idea, and then a war photo would be handy as well... --BACbKA22:53, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Good point. I guess a compromise solution would be to upload a number of different photos of Zalgaller and link them all to this (Talk) page. Subsequent WP editors will then be able to choose among them. I just want WP to have some basic info on modern day people who deserve mentioning. Quite often (like in this case) such info is hard to find on the web. In my experience, WP users enjoy adding/editing existing articles, but are reluctant to start new ones. So my priority would be to make this page into a reasonable state, similar to Dmitri_Kazhdan and let others do the rest. Mhym23:32, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
took me a while, but finally I've uploaded a current (today's) one now. Unfortunately he told me that some of the ones used on the web and in the book were lost — he sent out the only copies and they were lost before they were returned back from the publisher. As far as he's concerned, we may use any of these as well. Should I re-scan some from the book? --BACbKA20:32, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
