[edit]

What's the name of the choir that sings Myroslav Skoryk's version of "Verbova doshchechka" in Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (1965)? I found couple of sources in Ukrainian that vaguely hing that it was a collection of amateurs

  • music historian Oksana But called the authors of song's vocals a collective of amateurs/аматорський колектив http://www.nrcu.gov.ua/news.html?newsID=90417)
  • a journalist Василь Нагірняк/Vasyl Nahirniak wrote an article "Хліб-сіль – «Тіням забутих предків» Параджанова" where among others he talks about the involvement of Ukrainian locals from the Carpathean mountain villages, and among others he talks about "12 actors-amateurs" invited to Kyiv to be part of the movie; but it is unclear from thsi article - were these 12 "actors-amateurs" also the "collective of amateurs" that sange "Verbova doshchechka" in the film https://nppver.at.ua/Jabe/jabe2016/zhab-e4.pdf

All in all there seem to be more questions that answers as to who exactly (or what choir) is responsible for the vocals of Myroslav Skoryk's version of "Verbova doshchechka" from the Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (1965).--73.8.106.93 (talk) 22:54, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Title change

[edit]

The song's name is Verbova Doshchechka, not VerbovaYA. This has to be changed. There is no grammatical ending -aya in Ukrainian. Pettylein (talk) 12:10, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
