driving games
[edit]Just making a note to myself. It's kind of obvious, but most driving games restrict the car to a track or a road. I'll deal with the reference later. Randomran (talk) 20:53, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Might also add that many driving games start the player wiht a small selection of cars / whatever vehicles, and unlocks new choices based on their success. For example, players can purchase new cars with winnings from other races. Randomran (talk) 06:52, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- Forgot car customization, such as paint jobs, transmission, tires, brakes... Player can often customize throughout the game, as it progresses. Randomran (talk) 06:53, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- Many driving games abstract away concepts such as fuel consumption, so that players may focus on other aspects of gameplay. Randomran (talk) 00:25, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- Some good stuff about navigation mechanisms on page 267 of this one: Rollings, Andrew (2006). Fundamentals of Game Design. Prentice Hall.
