The result of the move request was: Moved, consensus to move given the updated news that Leo is to be Taoiseach  — Amakuru (talk) 17:22, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

VaradkarVaradkar (surname)Leo Varadkar is clearly wp:primary, as evidenced by pageviews and long-term significance. --Nevéselbert 07:13, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose for now. A longer-term pageview comparison[1] shows that the disparity in pageview rank is a current spike, presumably due to Leo Varadkar's participation in the current Fine Gael leadership election. Both people are currently active, so there is no reason to prefer one or the other wrt long-term significance.
If Leo wins that election (and presumably becomes Taoiseach), then he will become more prominent, we can review the situation. But WP:NOTCRYSTAL, so let's not jump assume. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 13:11, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Now that the Irish politician is about to become Taoiseach he is surely the primary topic, this page should become a redirect. PatGallacher (talk) 14:17, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Page should direct to Leo Varadkar given he will definitely be elected Taoiseach. Finnegas (talk) 22:00, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Varadkar (surname)VaradkarLeo Varadkar is no longer the current Taoiseach as of 27 June this year, so he is no longer primary. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 18:28, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Leo Varadker may not be the current taoiseach following the most recent election, however, he has become the tánaiste in a coalition government in which he is a rotating taoiseach so, by inter-party agreement, he will be taoiseach again in December 2022. In the meantime, he will remain primary owing to his seniority as tánaiste and not forgetting the seniority of having been taoiseach. — O'Dea (talk) 19:23, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
