Mention about Acceleration of Vande Bharat (important), Difference between certified and trial speed
[edit]@Arnav Bhate Acceleration of Vande Bharat express is important. Without mentioning it, the article is incomplete. Please don't delete if correct information about this is given with reference. You have deleted it once.
Clarification between certified speed and trial speed should not be deleted to erase confusion but you deleted. Being confused, some person may edit this point incorrectly. Poorva12303 (talk) 10:59, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
- @VIBHAATH GUDTROT
- Please don't delete these words about the train: "... it has fast acceleration and deceleration[1]. Because of the high acceleration, the second version of Vande Bharat train reaches the speed of 100 kmph in just 52 seconds during trial. [2][3][4]." Only telling "reaches the speed of 100 kmph in just 52 seconds" can't give proper knowledge to readers.
- As per reference "reaches the speed of 100 kmph in just 52 seconds" is during trial of Mumbai - Ahmedabad trial, which is a trial of second version. So version can be mentioned. Poorva12303 (talk) 11:29, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- All that is something that is there in the trainset page. If you want to include it, please don't include it in the lead. Arnav Bhate (talk) 12:23, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- I have changed the sentence:
The new variant of Vande Bharat train can reach a speed of 100 km/h in 52 seconds during trials
- to
VIBHAATH GUDTROT (talk) 13:26, 12 November 2023 (UTC)The new variant of Vande Bharat train is capable of reaching 100 km/h speed in just 52 seconds.
- I have changed the sentence:
It has achieved higher speed than its certified speed of 160 km/h during trial which is 180 km/h.
- to
The trains have achieved 180 km/h during trials which is higher than the certified speed of 160 km/h.
- the first versions sounds odd. VIBHAATH GUDTROT (talk) 13:16, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Arnav Bhate
- "An important point about the train is that it has fast acceleration and deceleration" you shouldn't delete it based on the ground that it is EMUs common feature as everybody doesn't know it. Secondly it has higher accelaration than other EMUs
- Other EMUs can't touch 100 Km/h in just 52 seconds (references given earlier)
- 3 Phase EMU:
- Acceleration at designed weight 0 to 40 kmph 0.54 m/s2
- Deceleration at designed weight 100 to 50 kmph 0.76 m/s2
- Deceleration at designed weight 50 to 0 kmph 0.84 m/s2
- [1]
- Vande Bharat (version unknown but between 1st or 2nd):
- Train shall be capable of achieving a minimum an average acceleration of 0.7 m/s2 for speed up to 40 km/h,
- Train shall achieve a minimum deceleration of 0.8 m/s2 during full service braking following the jerk limit as specified.
- The full service brake shall not achieve deceleration of greater than 1.0 m/s2 at any speed.
- [2]
- PS: Acceleration of Metro/ Monorail/ Namo Bharat may be even higher (speed range unknown) but these are slower than Vande Bharat (except Namo Bharat) and lighter than common rail and and have shorter routes. You may search official websites.
- Kolkata Metro:
- Maximum Acceleration 1.1 m/s2
- Max. Deceleration during braking 1.3 m/s [3] Poorva12303 (talk) 07:04, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
- The train is already mentioned as a capable of reaching semi-highspeeds in the lead. All semi-high speed trains by default have very good acceleration/decelration. There is no need to write a whole essay comapring it with something like Kolkata metro. Further technical details are given in the Vande Bharat trainset article. Wikipedia is about keeping things succinct. As per WP:LEAD, the first paragraph should not contain too much specific details. VIBHAATH GUDTROT (talk) 11:52, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

- without mentioning acceleration, introduction about Vande Bharat Express is incomplete. Many persons don't know that they have to visit train set article and it is also time consuming. Related subjects were discussed earlier on this talk page Poorva12303 (talk) 11:09, 15 June 2024 (UTC)

Avg speed and train no
[edit]update the avg speed and train no of lucknow dehradun vande bharat 61.3.161.94 (talk) 12:37, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
Service speed is less than trial speed does not mean always that it is due to problem
[edit]@Arnav Bhate It is so common that maximum permissible trial speed of a train is more than maximum permissible service speed which is 180 km/h (it crossed the limit upto 183 km/h) and 160 km/h for Vande Bharat and it does not mean it is due to track problem or any other problem Poorva12303 (talk) 11:16, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
Articles on every service
[edit]Number of articles have been created for every Vande Bharat service and I do not think every service necessitates its own article when most of the information is accessible within services table of the main article. Moreover, as pointed out in a previous discussion, these services are not specially named and are simply "Start-End Vande Bharat Express". The information is repetitve, does not add value nor help the readers. I suggest for deletion of all these articles. Footy2000♡; 09:10, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that there should not be articles on every service. Recently, I have tried getting some articles from Category:Indian express train stubs, mostly with success and some are still at AfD. This category and its parent Category:India passenger train stubs contain many such non-notable articles. Many trains not in these categories are also non-notable. So this problem extends beyond Vande Bharat. I'm not sure if there is any alternative other than PROD and (after inevitably getting dePRODed) AfD for deleting such articles. Services table
[edit]The table is over detailed with some dynamic information that can change over time: train no., stops, frequency. Also, these columns may violate WP:NOTGUIDE. The presence of this vast table is itself debated but it can be better off as a simplified version without these columns. Footy2000♡; 14:47, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that the table should be simplified. At least frequency should be removed. Removing train number is fine too. Arnav Bhate (talk • contribs) 09:11, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
