Rio Janero
[edit]I changed what is now Reference 50 from "50. "Cruisers at Rio Janero". Washington Post: p. 4. 1907-11-06." to "50. "Cruisers at Rio de Janeiro". Washington Post: p. 4. 1907-11-06." I assumed the Post used the correctly spelled name of Rio de Janeiro, but I don't have access to the original newspaper article. Art LaPella (talk) 06:28, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
Buffalo
[edit]Does anyone know why there is no article for Sebree's USS Buffalo? The article links to that dab, and there doesn't appear to be a ship linked from the dab that fits the time period given here. -M.Nelson (talk) 13:29, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- The entry for the USS Buffalo could not be correct, as there was no Buffalo in US service at the stated time. It was the Baltimore to which he was assigned during this time period, not the Buffalo. I'm not sure how the error occurred, as the referenced source (at the time I verified it) correctly listed the Baltimore. I have corrected it here. It is also more fitting as he was on the Baltimore during the Valparaiso incident. KMJKWhite (talk) 02:13, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
Pathfinder Squadron
[edit]How did Sebree meet with representatives of the "Kingdom of Hawaii" in 1908? The Hawaiian monarchy was overthrown in 1893, and even its pretense was ended after the Queen died in the late 1890s, and certainly no U.S. naval officer would have met with anyone claiming to represent an independent Hawaii in the first decade of the twentieth century, so this has to be WRONG. 2600:1004:B104:6E3A:FCEF:AA4A:ABD2:4EE4 (talk) 12:39, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
