A fact from Union for Democracy and Social Progress appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 5 August 2024 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that the electoral victory of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress in 2018 led to DR Congo's first peaceful transition of power since its independence from Belgium in 1960?
It's not a member of the conservative Internacional democrat Union, but (as the article on the Socialist International and the french article on this party well recall, it's a left party and a member of the Socialist International. Any other reason for this mistake other than the word Democracy in the name of the party? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.136.21.65 (talk) 15:09, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tshisekedi is the leader of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS), DRC's oldest and largest opposition party. Critics say he is unproven, inexperienced and lacks the charisma of his father. 'His father was a man of the country. The son is very limited,' Valentin Mubake, former secretary-general of Tshisekedi's party told the Guardian last month.
@Vanderwaalforces: Thank you for taking the time to do this review! I will note that I did have to do a QPQ, which I did. You can double check and, if you see no issues, please modify your review to reflect this. Cheers. Yue🌙21:08, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
