Around Union Station

[edit]

Could this article include the restaurant(s) and businesses that are all around that area? --Write_On_1983 talk | contribs 14:04, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, if those places are in the station itself. Niagara Don't give up the ship 16:03, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New content

[edit]

I wrote a note to the recent contributor asking that sources be included. Nice contribution but totally unsourced. Contributor has no Wiki account, making this detailed addition a bit worrisome. I would recommend reverting this in a few days if sources aren't forthcoming, unless someone wants to research all of this to verify its accuracy. --Pat (talk) 06:44, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did some clean up but the article continues to lack any sourcing. The contribution is substantial and hopefully accurate. Maybe the contributor could offer some credentials on this talk page? Railroad hobbyist or historian, former employee, local resident with an interest? --Pat (talk) 01:04, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Erie Union Station" common name

[edit]

That is the common name of this station, just like Chicago Union Station or Washington, D.C. Union Station, both of which have that formatting in their infobox/lead. It is not called simply "Union Station" by most people, unless they are in Erie. epicgenius (talk) 21:27, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

While researching this article, I looked at the number of usages for both and found "Union Station" (referring to the one in Erie) to be far more common than "Erie Union Station". If you have some other source that says otherwise, I'll re-evaluate my position. Niagara Don't give up the ship 22:16, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I guess we can go with "Union Station" for now. The only reason I added "Erie" is because many Amtrak stations are named after the city. epicgenius (talk) 22:19, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I understand the reasoning. It does appear to be really common in the Northeast, what with New York Penn, Newark Penn, Baltimore Penn all on the same line. Niagara Don't give up the ship 22:33, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. However, I think an explanation hatnote, directing people to Union Station (disambiguation), could be added at the very least. It may or may not be needed; just a suggestion. epicgenius (talk) 23:42, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't be opposed to having one. WP:HATNOTE doesn't seem to require one in this instance, though. But, if you believe someone could, conceivably, be lead to this Union Station instead of the one they were expecting, then adding a hatnote would be prudent. The general concept Union station is currently linked in the "See also" section, so someone who does want to find more similarily named stations is able to. A hatnote, although not required per policy (or in this context), would actually clear some things up for the casual reader who is looking for this Union Station, but searched "Union Station" and got something else. epicgenius (talk) 02:39, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Haunting category

[edit]

If the article is in the category Reportedly haunted locations in Pennsylvania, it should have some content elaborating on that topic. MisfitToys (talk) 19:02, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
