refugee transport 10/1950?
[edit]If possible I would like to find out if this ship was used to transport my family in October, 1950 from Germany to New York? Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.11.140.203 (talk) 16:29, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

USS General Harry Taylor (AP-145) → USNS General Hoyt S. Vandenberg (T-AGM-10) – final name of the ship, and name used for the reef when she was sunk, so still the name of the ship; also her service as radar and communications ship is more significant than her history as a transport. She served longer as the Vandenberg than any other name. --Relisted. — Amakuru (talk) 09:32, 21 October 2013 (UTC) -- 65.92.181.39 (talk) 10:19, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

- Support - Ship spent most of her career as General Hoyt S. Vandenberg, that should be the article title. Parsecboy (talk) 19:48, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
- Support proposed move. I agree with Parsecboy. The other names will redirect here anyway. - WPGA2345 - ☛ 04:29, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- Sensible move. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 03:43, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
- Support, but the (T-AGM-10) appears to be unnecessary, as there's no other ship named USNS General Hoyt S. Vandenberg. "USNS General Hoyt S. Vandenberg" would be fine.--Cúchullain t/c 20:30, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
