Note that the 1936 map shows US 411 in Tennessee as "proposed". The 1938 (official state) map doesn't show it at all, and the 1946 map ends it at Maryville. The 1951 (official state) map takes it through to Greeneville.

- Etowah to Maryville: SR 64, became SR 33 by 1938, became US 411 in 1934

- There may have been some changes between Johnson City and Bristol in the early days, with a possible longer route via Elizabethton and SR 37 going to Bristol, but SR 34 went directly to Bristol by 1938.

- Georgia State Route 53: US 411 from Alabama to Rome; continues east for much longer than it is overlapped
- Georgia State Route 20: US 411 from Rome to Cartersville; continues east and west for much longer than it is overlapped
- Georgia State Route 61: US 411 from Cartersville to Tennessee; continues south for a bit less than it is overlapped
- Tennessee State Route 33 (primary, except near downtown Maryville): US 411 from Georgia to Maryville; continues northeast for longer than it is hidden
- Tennessee State Route 73 (primary, with US 321) and Tennessee State Route 447 (secondary): short pieces near downtown Maryville; SR 447 does not extend any further
- Tennessee State Route 35 (primary): US 411 and US 321 from Maryville to Greeneville; continues only a bit west to new SR 115 (US 129)
