— Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.153.160.133 (talk) 08:15, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
Territorial dispute?
[edit]Did Russians ever claim the island? The dispute is about the waters of the Strait of Kerch, not about the island. Hellerick (talk) 13:39, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Mistake about historic facts
[edit]"Just before the Soviet Union entered World War II on January 7, 1941"
Soviet Union did not enter World War II on January 7, 1941, but on September 17, 1939, when (after signing with Germans the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact) Soviet Union invaded Poland and shared its territories with Germans. Raul1972 (talk) 21:50, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Clarification: permanent inhabitants?
[edit]From the article, it is unclear if this island has any inhabitants. If there are any, are they permanent inhabitants -- that is, is this their home -- or do they fall under other classifications, such as fishermen who use this as a base of operations, or border guards? -- llywrch (talk) 15:47, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

Ukrainian border post
[edit]As of October 2022 the article claims there is a Ukrainian border post on the island. This seems unlikely. Robert Brockway (talk) 13:13, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
