[edit]I used the general cleanup tag because I'm in a hurry (sorry): The new notation that Anthony Rossi was an illegal immigrant has no references cited, may be vandalism, may be NPOV. If it is true, any reliable source verifying it ought to have info on when/whether he became a U.S. legal resident and/or citizen, which should be added to the article. "Recently Tropicana released a range of 'functional fruit juices' targeted at the health conscientious consumer. These fruit juice drinks in the Essentials range include juices with added Multivitimins, Fibre, Calcium as well as light orange juice beverage with half of the calories and sugar of regular orange juice."
The spelling and grammar is terrible. Also, it just sounds like an ad, not a functional description.
I'd edit it, but "functional fruit juices" and "recently" are not defined in this section. "half of the calories and sugar of regular orange juice" is also an ambiguous sentence. What constitutes "regular" orange juice?

Soda flavors?
[edit]There is a Lemon flavored Tropicana Tw!ster soda? I have never seen it around here, but it might still exist. Robsharpe2001 00:11, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Plastic Carton
[edit]My name is Maureen Meier and I am an employee of Tropicana Consumer Relations. I wanted to help clear up the content in your "Plastic Carton" section around BPA (bisphenol A) (BPA), which hasn't been cited.
The root of BPA consumer concerns stems around a plastic called Polycarbonate. Polycarbonate contains BPA and is the hard plastic resin typically used in re-usable 5 gallon water bottles for home and office use as well as some personal re-usable water bottles. Polycarbonate is coded #7 since it does not have a specific code. Plastics that do not have their own symbol or those that consist of multiple layers of materials are all lumped together under #7 Other.
Tropicana products use a variety of packages and are made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate) ((link to http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Polyethylene_terephthalate )) and HDPE (high Density Polyethylene) ((link to http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/High-density_polyethylene )). These packages do not use BPA and pose no health risks.
For Tropicana, the #7 material coding is used to identify multi layer materials because our HDPE bottles contain a small amount of nylon material to maintain freshness. Although these bottles are fully recycle-able in the #2 HDPE recycling stream, we are required by law to code them as #7 "other" to designate that they contain more than one material.
What is important for consumers to understand is that the numbers placed on the bottom of plastic containers are 'resin codes' ((link to http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Resin_identification_code )) whose sole purpose is to indicate the type of plastic from which the item is made. They were designed so consumers could identify if they are recyclable in their community and were never intended to serve as a way to identify the presence of BPA .
I've attached several links to independent sources for your consideration. http://www.factsonplastic.com/ http://www.bisphenol-a.org/ http://www.ameribev.org/news-detail/index.aspx?nid=136 Thank you for your time and consideration.

lawsuit
[edit]I just found out that a few years ago, tropicana was sued for giving away to many xbox360 live codes! is that true? Mrpengo88 (talk) 21:22, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Updates for quality, content
[edit]In an effort to remove the Cleanup tag, I am going to attempt to update this article for general quality and content, and will look for citations to support the information currently in the article, too. Kat Malone (talk) 15:25, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Quick assessment scan
[edit]I have done a preliminary scan of this article per an assessment request on the food and drink assessment page. This article needs improvement in the following areas:
- History section - Each paragraph is a separate section, this disrupts the flow of the article. Merge some of the sections together and use more general headings. See WP:Sections
- The section headers are too long in some cases.
- It needs a major copy edit for grammar.
- It is overly cited in some areas and uncited in other areas that really need citations.
- Citations need to properly formatted with {{cite web}}, {{cite news}} etc citation templates.
- It needs more sources that are secondary and neutral
- Look for weasel words and correct them.
- When establishing dates try to avoid using phrases like in 19xx the company started sell this product.. too many times. Rephrase it so it reads something like The company began selling this product in this market in 19xx... Break it up
- Don't keep repeating names over and over, if the subject in a paragraph is constant throughout the text substitute the appropriate pronoun where needed. There were several instances where a citation was placed that was not encased in <ref> </ref> tags
There is more that needs to be done, and I corrected several of the worst problems. I would still only give it a "C" as it stands now. --Jeremy (blah blah) 20:11, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
the Canadian company seagram should have its own heading
[edit]even though it was founded by an American it was under the Canadian company that it flourished, going global, introducing bottled drinks. i'm not going to add it because i've done adds like that before only to have them deleted by someone who frequents the page.
