Speedy?

[edit]

I contested the speedy nomination using the {{hangon}} tag; this page has already gone through AfD, where it survied, so I don't think it can be speedied - it should go back to AfD. UnitedStatesian (talk) 19:46, 13 May 2008 (UTC) Sorry, I only nominated it for speedy because I believed that from its short, unsourced, un-noteworthy, unencyclopedic, dictionary-like contents that it must have been recently created. Upon an actual examination of its history, it is apparent that it is not recent. However, that it is, after 6 months, still this void of meaning should say something about its long-term value.KevinCuddeback (talk) 20:47, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{edit semi-protected}} Dear Editor,

Under examples of aggregate sites, I would suggest to also add two more sites: Hipmunk.com (unique time table style search that nobody else has) Travelgrove.com (only site on the Internet to provide frequent flyer award info for each flight) Also you should discuss the large and spreading affiliate programs related to these travel websites world wide. Where smaller unique websites like www.thelittleblackbookofhotels.com or www.slicedkiwi.com sign up with these large OTA's as affiliates increasing the OTA's reach through other smaller operators or travel orientated websites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.137.186.210 (talk) 05:16, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Heading Travelogue should really read Travelouge and Travel Blogs because the description you provide is what a travel blog.

Please include a section on this article that relates to 'Event Travel'. This is important because of the inclusion of ticketed events, for events such as Wimbledon, the Australian Open and the Hong Kong Sevens, (hundreds of other examples are available). These event organisers designate a portion of the tickets available to the public to "Official Travel Agents" OTA's. These OTAS, such as Events Worldwide Travel (events.com.au), and dozens of others have access to event tickets officially allocated to them and provide them to the public with travel services, such as flights and hotels. The provision of event tickets and travel services is termed as ' Travel Packages'. In many instances members of the public can only purchase tickets to these events with travel packages and thus the need for this section.

Thank you in advance for considering this as salient in the travel websites section. As many companies such as Qantas have travel package sections of their website, designated to event travel. Georgehedley (talk) 01:50, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: It might be a good idea, I honestly would not know, it is however beyond what you can expect being done by making an edit request. You have 9 edits under your belt since 2008. Make one single edit more and you are, if memory serves, autoconfirmed, and can do the editing here yourself. Sam Sing! 07:46, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the following section of "Social Travel Websites", as I believe there could be more added to this section of the page, and this is a growing market.

Social travel website

A social travel website is a type of travel website that will look at where the user is going and pair them with other places they want to go based on where other people have gone.[1] This can help the traveler gain insight of the destination, people, culture before travel and become aware of the places the user is willing to visit. Taking a different approach is TourRadar, which is a mix of price aggregator, as well as Social Travel Website[2] for multi day group tours. The website and accompanying app allows travelers to research multi day group tours, as well as chat to other group members before their tour departs.[3] Sebastianpee (talk) 07:21, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
