Lead sentence is unclear
[edit]I literally don't understand the clause "...and rights to gender recognition..." in the first sentence. What is the intent here? Can someone redo this? Mathglot (talk) 05:13, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
Title unclear
[edit]"...Transgender rights in the Republic of Ireland have evolved dramatically over time."... I don't know what this means. The Gender Recognition Act of 2015 doesn't have anything explicitly to do with trans people or gender. There is no basis of the concept of gender in irish law. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aerchasúr (talk • contribs) 22:05, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

Transgender rights in Ireland → Transgender rights in the Republic of Ireland – We should maintain consistency with same-sex marriage in the Republic of Ireland and LGBTQ rights in the Republic of Ireland, which both refer to the country as "the Republic of Ireland" to avoid confusion with Northern Ireland. I tried to be bold and move it myself, but "Transgender rights in the Republic of Ireland" is currently used as a redirect to the LGBTQ rights in the Republic of Ireland article. - I agree. For consistency and clarity's sake it absolutely makes sense. A. Astronomy ꩜ 00:11, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- Support, WP:PRECISE, WP:CONSISTENT and WP:CONSUB as this appears to only be on the Republic of Ireland, not the island of Ireland as a whole. DankJae 17:29, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- I also support for consistency and precision. David Malone (talk) 17:40, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- Support per nom and others. (I tried to be bold and move it myself but I don't have the rights.) BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 21:29, 20 February 2025 (UTC)
