TATOA 2?
[edit]Is this different from "Toronto Area Transit Operating Authority", which existed in the 1970s? (see GO Transit wants to raise fares by 8% - at bottom of page) Mindmatrix 01:36, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
This seems incorrect
[edit]According to the Toronto Star (1999, August 6, p. 1), the opposite is true. According to that article, the Toronto Area Transportation Authority (not Toronto Area Transportation Operating Authority) was a provincial agency; GO Transit was transferred from that agency to the GTTA (i.e., Metrolinx), which at that point was regional level (GTA plus Hamilton; back then the GTHA apparently did not even exist), thus a downloading.
If the “Toronto Area Transportation Operating Authority” existed and was a local agency then there would have been no downloading. — al12si (talk) 19:43, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
