Section for Mena tornado?
[edit]Due to the substantial amount of damage caused by this storm, I think a section would be useful for it. Once the NWS finishes their assessment it could probably be worked out quickly. Cyclonebiskit 20:31, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- Probably, but I don't have enough information to split it off. CrazyC83 (talk) 20:34, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'll see what I can find. Cyclonebiskit 20:43, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- [1] That has a lot of information on the tornado in it. Also, a google news search gives about 1,400 articles for it. Cyclonebiskit 21:03, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
April 11
[edit]Tomorrow could be a split-event, with tornadoes possible both on the Atlantic coast (Florida) and in West Texas from the second system (setting up Sunday and Monday). If tornadoes happen tomorrow from both systems, they should be listed as separate events. CrazyC83 (talk) 20:34, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Arson
[edit]One of the wildfires was apparently an arson. If this is primarily the case, then I don't believe the wildfires should be mentioned in this article if it wasn't caused by the storm system. [2] Showtime2009 (talk) 15:23, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- There have been dozens of other wildfires from northern Oklahoma to western Texas because of the winds and the dryline - so I think it should have its own section, maybe unless someone started an article but even then. The one possible arson fire did not resulted in any of the fatalities - all the fire fatalities were in Texas. --JForget 01:09, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Good Friday
[edit]I know it's not official. I know it's not been circulated yet. But, per common tradition of using associated holidays, then name "Good Friday Outbreak" fits. Palm Sunday, Easter, New Year's Eve and Veterans Day have all been used historically. Off the top of my head, only Memorial Day and April Fools have been directly associated with a major outbreak and not been used. Just my opinion. -- HurricaneERIC - Class of '08: XVII Maius MMVIII 19:54, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- The NWS in Nashville refers to this outbreak as the Good Friday outbreak so there is some usage of the name. Cyclonebiskit 20:17, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- It would be usable for the second day of the outbreak from a local perspective. But in the grand scheme, it is not an appropriate name for the article, as there was significant activity from a separate round of storms (in the same system) on Thursday night as well. If it all happened Friday and Friday night, then that name would be a good title for the article. (I did create a redirect with that name though) Easter Weekend was considered as an eventual name, but today was a total bust. CrazyC83 (talk) 04:50, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
