Fades
[edit]He was a recurring character in the BBC series Shades, which is somewhat more notable than single appearances in the career paragraph.

Welsh
[edit]Happy to see a source to prove me wrong, but he isn't a "Welsh actor". He was born in Cardiff to English parents, and grew up in England.Gymnophoria (talk) 21:57, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
wives
[edit]I think he had another wife in between the ones mentioned here? 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:F130:9AFC:1A59:16F9 (talk) 15:50, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
Gender identification of children
[edit]As of 2019, his children were reported to be daughters. Are there published reliable sources to indicate that this needs updated? —C.Fred (talk) 14:45, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
He makes a passing reference to "my son" in this BBC-published clip.[1] I hate to say it, but are we sure this refers to one of the three known children? I'm not sure which is the more dangerous speculation from this comment. —C.Fred (talk) 14:50, 28 January 2023 (UTC) revised 14:59, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
On review of a Google search, I am finding enough non-reliable sources that I am inclined to say that in the best interests of privacy, I'm going to agree with the IP and de-gender the references to children. —C.Fred (talk) 14:59, 28 January 2023 (UTC)

Tom Ellis role that needs to be added: Rick Chateau from The Great North
[edit]Tom Ellis plays the part of Rick Chateau, the character Dick Chateau’s brother. In the episode “Dick, Rick, Groom Adventure”. RoryDawnOfHell666 (talk) 08:25, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- I finally figured out how to edit it, so I went ahead and added it in, hope that’s ok!! RoryDawnOfHell666 (talk) 01:13, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
Nationality
[edit]Appears there have been repeating disputes on whether Ellis is best described as "Welsh" or "British from Wales" (which can just shortened to "British" unless mentioning his birthplace is deemed important?). Boldly restored the status quo in absence of evidence or reason, and WP:UKCHANGE. The use of "Welsh" appears to date to 2010, but the article was created in 2005 using "British".
Do sources call Ellis mainly "Welsh", "British" or even "English"? Does Ellis have a self-preference? (which is merely considered)
Sources are all over the place, with some sounding similar to this article's lead. I limited it to some of his interviews but so far haven't found his own words, with only this writer/interviewer identifying Ellis as Welsh here. While this one, Ellis mentions being born in Wales, but moving to England, although only in the context of accents. While this one states Although Ellis is Welsh, he plays Lucifer as English – “My kids hate it”
, so not sure if that quote backs the writer's phrasing.
Being born in Wales doesn't automatically close the debate for "Welsh", as Ellis had been raised in England, but not impossible he claimed it back. DankJae 21:22, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
