The result of the move request was: not moved - there's a general consensus that alcohol intoxication is not the primary topic for the word tipsy and that the current setup with the disambiguation page at the base name is the most beneficial to readers. TipsyTipsy (disambiguation) – Word namely refers to the state of intoxication. Base name should redirect to alcohol intoxication, with a hatnote at the top of the page. Sean Stephens (talk) 10:43, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Clearly a primary topic, and other colloquial words for alcohol intoxication already redirect there. JIP | Talk 12:03, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weakly oppose Disambiguation is primary intended to aid reader navigation, and I'm not really certain a user searching for this rather unique adjective is more likely to be looking for the dictionary definition of the word rather than the other topics. If we were a dictionary, obviously, but that is not the case. Maybe it makes sense to use a redirect link to get a sense of page views, and see if readers ending up on this page are actually looking for the dictionary definition?--Yaksar (let's chat) 14:38, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, WP:NOTDICTIONARY, WP:NOPRIMARY. 162 etc. (talk) 15:18, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: I'd initially intended to move the page myself, so my initial edit in which I rearranged the page accordingly should not be perceived in bad faith. Thank you to 162, who since cleaned up the page. Sean Stephens (talk) 23:07, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The song gets 67 views per day and this dab page gets only 5.[1] There's no problem that needs solving here. Station1 (talk) 00:06, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Station1: I think you've misread my nomination. My proposal is to move the current dab page to "Tipsy (disambiguation)" and redirect "Tipsy" to "alcohol intoxication", as I believe that that is the primary topic for that search term. But, if consensus deems it so, I'm happy if others don't consider that to be the case. Sean Stephens (talk) 08:32, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
      • Yes, I understand the proposal. I didn't make my point clearly. I disagree that alcohol intoxication is the proven primary topic for the search term. It seems to me at least as likely, if not more so, that more searchers are looking for a song actually called "Tipsy" that gets substantial views, than expect to find the article about drunkenness or intoxication by searching for "tipsy". And the fact that only 5 people per day land on the dab page indicates to me that the current setup is not causing any significant problem. Station1 (talk) 16:36, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The pageviews aren't helpful here (there's not much information that can be extracted by comparing articles to dab pages). However, we do have the Clickstream, and the data there for the month of March shows that the links for intoxication and for the song were followed an equal number of times (36, with no other link followed more than 9 times during the month). Regardless, even for readers who are interested in the topic of intoxication, the dab page is arguably a better landing spot, because there the definition of tipsiness can be given in brief (something which is currently absent from Alcohol intoxication, and "tipsy" is in no way an exact synonym). – Uanfala (talk) 14:05, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Any primary topic is not clear here. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:27, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
