The sculpture features in Studio-Talk but it has no details. violet/riga [talk] 16:54, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Appears to be a museum. Which one? Relbats (talk) 16:37, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This page is from the July 1911 edition of The International Studio, a monthly publication by New York-based John Lane Company. It illustrates artworks from all over the world. Didn’t see any additional info on the fountain photo. Since this is from 1911, the fountain may no longer be in this location. Relbats (talk) 17:03, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Wally Mersereau believes this is the copy that ended up in the Stauss Villa garden. Relbats (talk) 15:15, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Columbia University campus?

[edit]
Resolved

@Violetriga: Can you explain the reason for including Category:Columbia University campus? ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:48, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. It was a copy/paste mistake! Thanks for pointing that out! violet/riga [talk] 16:13, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No worries! ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:28, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Location categories

[edit]

I see the category for sculptures in Manhattan has been added, but we might want to add categories for all the other known locations, too. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:52, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I'll work on that soon, thanks. violet/riga [talk] 16:14, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Other copies?

[edit]

The Shaer article reports a copy located "in a park in Northern California." This article references the statue which was apparently brought to Burlingame, CA by members of the Cincinnati Wurlitzer family. It has apparently since disappeared from public view: https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/35871 Shaer also mentions a copy "in a park in the Austrian Alps." Frustratingly that site appears to be blocked outside the US and I'm currently unable to see it. However, I did find this: http://sarahparsons.biz/san_mateo_cities/burlingame_ca_94010/ which includes a photo too. violet/riga [talk] 18:23, 3 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Background on this one looks different from all the others: https://www.focus.de/fotos/der-nymphenbrunnen-des-bildhauers-walter-schott_id_5459035.html Could this be the "park in the Austrian Alps" version? Relbats (talk) 02:55, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think it may be a different angle for the Burg Schlitz copy. Relbats (talk) 03:32, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Article and photo on the Potsdam copy with details on other versions including the address of the Berlin copy: https://neuesvonney.wordpress.com/2008/11/02/nicht-nur-in-potsdam-der-schottsche-nympfenbrunnen/ Relbats (talk) 03:30, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
And a photo of a "restored" copy for a private client in Berlin: http://www.dempwolf-restaurierung.de/c/index.php/Brunnen.html Is this the Georg-von-Stauß-Villa copy? Relbats (talk) 03:40, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like this is the Villa Stauss copy based on other photos. Relbats (talk) 16:33, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Great research Relbats. Lots of info found. violet/riga [talk] 22:09, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Also exchanged several emails with Wally Mersereau about the two 2003 copies and many other related topics. Relbats (talk) 00:44, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
