Steve Thomas leaving the show

[edit]

Anyone know if there is a story behind Steve Thomas leaving the show? ike9898

I think it was a Bob Vila situation -- i.e. a run in with Russell Morash.24.57.193.217 20:29, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I understand it was Thomas' decision to leave the show when his contract expired. Steelbeard1 22:07, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The later. I heard from someone at ThisOldHouse.com on the matter. Steve really should have been the one to introduce Kevin O'Conner. That would allow him to state why he was leaving and do so on a good note. I hope that Kevin does a better job of that for the fourth host.

[edit]

Good job in spotting that the article didn't mention Steve Thomas as host. Just to let you know, your actual contributions have been changed because of spelling and grammar, not content. - DavidWBrooks 17:22, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Andersen Corporation speedy delete

[edit]

I complained twice to User talk:Fmnb for the speedy delete of the Andersen Corporation article. I suggest others who monitor this article do the same thing. Steelbeard1 12:12, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that User:Fmnb has been banned indefinitely from posting in Wikipedia. I guess it's safe to start a new Andersen Corporation article. I asked the Wikipedian who banned Fmnb if there is any way to restore the article. Steelbeard1 15:15, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Kusma at User_talk:Kusma#Andersen_Corporation gave useful tips in case anyone wants to create a new article on Andersen Corporation which won't get the speedy delete. Anyone want to try to? Steelbeard1 19:59, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cast

[edit]

I love this show and have been watching it since the 80's - have all of the current cast (other than the host of course) been around the entire run? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.71.158.84 (talk)

Both Richard and Norm debuted in the first season. However, both were actually just contractors at the time who might -- or might not -- reappear next season. Furthermore, as I understand it, Richard did not have any lines. His current role was handled by his Father that season.
The other cast members appeared later. Most did not appear until the Lexington Bed & Breakfast (which was ironically Bob Vila's last season). Will (Talk - contribs) 02:53, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ask This Old House logo.png

[edit]

Image:Ask This Old House logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Seperate Article for Ask This Old House

[edit]

I think there should be a separate article for Ask This Old House. I can create it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DruFarron (talkcontribs) 20:41, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Episodes

[edit]

I believe there is enough info in the Episodes section that it should be split into a separate article. Paul Badillo (talk) 06:19, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Westwood House

[edit]

The article refers to "an escalating dispute between the hosts, Vila and Abram, and the homeowners over the direction the [Westwood House] project was taking."

I've just finished watching the entire project (20 episodes) and I didn't see any indication of that. There was one isolated occasion when the homeowner commented that part of the project was more of a "gut job" than a restoration, but there was nothing like an escalation — just a brief conversation between the homeowner and Bob Vila. Nor was there anything like "Vila remarked at the end of the Westwood series that the owners could have contributed more 'sweat equity'." Is there any chance that these comments refer to another project? Z57N (talk) 01:45, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Where did this information come from?

[edit]

No information has been released about the medical conditions Roger Cook retired under, yet it states "the spin-off program added landscape expert Jennifer Nawada Evans, eventually replacing Roger Cook who was battling life-threatening cancer." Need a source or a deletion, as Roger is still living (as far as we know) and he's never revealed anything. 67.0.4.139 (talk) 01:12, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Television Production Team credits

[edit]

Greetings,

I see in the history that Seasider53 removed the television production team credits from the page with the explanation 'per MOS' [Manual of Style] as the reason for doing so. Can you specify the section of the MOS that justifies the removal of this information? I'd like to know for future reference when editing. Thanks.
