The result of the move request was: moved to "The Ox (instrumental)". DrKiernan (talk) 16:20, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
The Ox (The Who song) → The Ox (song) – There is no other song of this title in the Wikipedia. Therefore, there should be no reason why the disambiguation cannot be shortened.Hoops gza (talk) 03:02, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Support - As per other RMs, don't believe "no other song of this title in the Wikipedia" should be limited to stand-alone articles but taken as any song on any album mentioned in any article. However in this case Amazon mp3 search shows that there really is no other "song" (assuming it is okay to use "song" for instrumental pieces, which I don't have a problem with but others might, given Category:Rock instrumentals... in which case The Ox (instrumental).) - I don't fully agree with that argument - if the song in question is clearly the primary song topic for that title, but not the primary topic overall then I'd have thought that should take the "(song)" nomenclature with others taking "(.... song)". For example Let It Be (song) takes precedence over Let It Be (Chumbawamba single) and Let It Be (Ferry Aid song). — Amakuru (talk) 12:25, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Support - seems fairly clear cut. — Amakuru (talk) 12:26, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose. It's not a song. --Richhoncho (talk) 15:14, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Comment. Green Onions (song) has 221 page views on Wikipedia in the past 30 days. Sure that "(instrumental)" would be searched for more than "(song)"?Hoops gza (talk) 18:18, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- That's a flawed argument because the instrumental is at Green Onions, probably having been moved because it's not a song in the first place! --Richhoncho (talk) 17:04, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
