[edit]Larel Massé certainly deserves a Wiki entry in her own right, I'll set about it in a couple of weeks.Tban 15:41, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- They all do. Also: anybody know why the album cover image isn't displaying?--Orange Mike 19:36, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm going make a note in the article that says that it covers only the band's second incarnation (which is fine, but the intro mentions two versions and discusses only the second).
Non-free use of images
[edit]Wikipedia:Non-free content#Unacceptable uses#Images I've removed the images from the article discography per the above.Awotter (talk) 23:20, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
why the may '09 warning?
[edit]Who says it's got "an excessive amount of intricate detail"? I certainly don't think so. I hadn't listened to the band in 20 years, came here looking for specific info, and found it. I found the amount of detail quite helpful. Chthulu knits (talk) 04:51, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit]They also appear in the 1997 album "Got Swing!" by the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. My source is the album cover. -- James Hannum
confusion with live albums
[edit]There is some confusion among the live albums listed (copies of which I own and have consulted) as regards song lists, covers, and dates. The listing at www.tmtfanclub.com appears to be correct, and I invite the original author to look into the matter and make needed corrections. Acemoonbeam (talk) 00:03, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
I've split the data for The Manhattan Transfer Live (1978) and Man-Tora! Live in Tokyo (incorrectly shown as 1987) to establish Live (1987). The cover of Live was incorrectly shown as an alternate cover for The Manhattan Transfer Live. The old listing for Man-Tora! Live in Tokyo was a mix of data from Man-Tora! Live in Tokyo and what should have been Live. I created a new article for Live, moved Man-Tora! Live in Tokyo to its proper release year of 1996 and updated the main discography. [edit]After Tim Hauser died, the band replaced him with a guy named Trist Curless. Maybe we should put information about that on the article in the section "Since 2000?" Seed of COSMO私に話す here 00:09, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

Requested move 28 November 2017
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: not moved. Target already exists, and there is no argument made that this is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, nor is a disambiguator proposed. (closed by page mover) Bradv 04:01, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
The Manhattan Transfer → Manhattan Transfer – Per WP:THE, we should only include the definite article if it is almost always capitalised in running text. But several of the article's own sources downcase "the", or even omit it altoegther in running text.[1][2][3] A GBooks search for it in running text (using "of the Manhattan Transfer", to avoid sentences starts) also shows more with "the" than "The". — Amakuru (talk) 15:16, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. When used in the middle of a sentence, almost all references indicate "the Manhattan Transfer". —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 23:59, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
Where The Moon Goes feature?
[edit]Manhattan Transfer also were featured as processed vocals in Weather Report's 1983 'Procession' in the song 'Where The Moon Goes' (I have the album and have read an article at http://www.weatherreportdiscography.org/procession/#where-the-moon-goes), but I don't see it mentioned here. Can one of the authors please verify this and put it in? Carbohydrite (talk) 04:29, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
Request for comment: new WikiProject for a cappella-related articles
[edit]Hi there! To any and all interested: I've proposed a WikiProject dedicated to a cappella. This would be a group of editors interested in improving the quality of articles related to a cappella. If you're passionate about a cappella—ranging from the Pentatonix to groups like Manhattan Transfer, or perhaps pop culture representations like Pitch Perfect and The Sing-Off—please check out the proposal and share your thoughts!
Here's a link to the proposal for WikiProject A Cappella.
If you could see yourself contributing to an article related to a cappella (like this one), please consider joining!
