The Lying Game (TV series) → The Lying Game – Primary topic. The latter page was moved to The Lying Game (disambiguation) and then turned into a redirect to the former. – GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 23:28, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- @GeoffreyT2000: This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:49, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- How long will The Lying Game (TV series) remain a primary topic, now that the TV series has finished? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:49, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Comment – I'm not going to !vote yet, but I'm inclined to oppose, at least until someone can show some page view stats for the TV series vs. the book series to justify the primary topic assertion... --IJBall (contribs • talk) 04:56, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
- Anthony Appleyard, there appears to be someone editing in the 1.32 IP range, a number of whose edits you, myself and others have reverted, who is persistently blanking pages and making new redirects to this and related articles. I've suggested to the most recent IP that further discussion is warranted, but I'm also wondering if this will end up at ANI eventually. 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 21:17, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Procedural oppose – The pageview stats show that The Lying Game (book series) has been at its current title for only a few days. Therefore, we need to revisit this issue in approximately a month's time, once the two articles have been at their current titles for a long enough period to make a proper appraisal. However, I should admit that my inclination is to move The Lying Game (disambiguation) → The Lying Game and to leave the other two articles where they currently are... --IJBall (contribs • talk) 17:59, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

– The Lying Game was the long-standing location for the article on the TV series The Lying Game until a series of disruptive edits by an IP in May 2016. However, the most recent month's worth of Pageview statistics – [1] vs. [2] – confirm that the TV series is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC over The Lying Game (book series) (by a factor of as much as 10). Thus, the TV series should be returned to "base" article location: The Lying Game, and the relatively new disambiguation page should be moved from The Lying Game → The Lying Game (disambiguation). (See 'Discussion' section for more background on this Requested Move.) --IJBall (contribs • talk) 17:32, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

- Support Obviously. This should not have been moved away from the base title at all. SSTflyer 23:41, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Any additional comments:
- I procedurally opposed a similar WP:RM back in late May 2016 because The Lying Game (book series) was relatively new at that article location (as was the disambiguation page at The Lying Game), and I wanted to see a month's worth of Pageview stats before concluding that the TV series was still the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC over the book series. Well, as shown in the request above, Pageview stats do confirm that the TV series is still the primary topic, which is why I am re-requesting this page move (and the similar page move of the disambiguation page). --IJBall (contribs • talk) 17:36, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
