Feedback

Here's some feedback on what you have so far, BenBeckstromBYU.

I'm not sure if you need to specify that Taran is the main character in the lead. I think readers will understand that from context.
The last line in the lead summarizing the reviews could include more specific criticisms, but you probably want to hold off on rewriting that part until you are done with the criticisms section.
On the background section, can you say a little more about what Alexander's experience was? Did he also nearly freeze to death?
Plot section:
- Is Eilonwy giving Taran some embroidery important enough to mention? If so, what happened to Eilonwy that she's now sitting around doing embroidery? (I see that the embroidery becomes his flag later.)
- Fflewdur Fflam is the bard, right? Can you mention that?
- The bard is shocked because... did he lose Taran when he was rescuing him?
- Is Arawn the villain guy?
- Why are they going to talk to Rhun's fleet and to King Smoit? Are they trying to get together a defense from Arawn?
- Overall, the amount of names is overwhelming. See if you can cut some of them out and summarize (even) more.
Reception
- The first paragraph seems to be about reviews--seems useful to mention in the topic sentence (although it also includes an essay). Are there enough contemporary reviews to put them in their own paragraph?
- I think you can give a little more context to the Mitchell quote. Mitchell is saying that The High King is a positive example of leadership, right?

Lede:

Last sentence: When I read "juvenile", I thought of children's literature, but the end of the sentence made me think they thought the book was immature or something. Am I misunderstanding this? In other words, what is the difference between "juvenile" and "excellent" in the sentence?

Background:

"the companions" ---> "his companions" would flow better. If *"the companions" is an official term in the book, though, just leave it.

Plot summary:

Maybe say with the first introduction of Hen Wen that she is a pig. I found out in the second mention of Hen Wen, which caught me off guard because I had imagined a person.
"aligned with Arawn": allied?
Who is Dorath? (Ignore if this is known in the previous book)
"Achren also attacks Arawn and, as she dies, exposes Arawn to Taran's fatal strike with Dyrnwyn." Second use of Arawn can be replaced with "she"
"⁠the surviving Sons of Don (including Eilonwy and Fflewdur)": *I thought Eilonwy was a girl. She's a Son of Don?
