Kesyia Cole (sp?)
Just because he did a song with her does not mean he is associated with her. Some of these other assoiated acts seem kind of dumb as well. And Young Buck should be associated cause they made 2 mixtapes together in the last 5 months and he goona be on games new album they also dissin g-unit together. "Controversies" section
This section should be merged within a main biographical section of this article, see WP:CRITICISM. It seems to be giving too much light to minor incidents. In fact, the Joe Budden and Yukmouth sections seem to be undersourced and reliant on original research. --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 04:31, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
The Game's fourth album: "The Red Album".
Should be merged with L.A.X./Fourth Album section:
At his show in Providence, RI during the L.A.X. tour rapper The Game announced the his fourth album titled "The Red Album" will be realesed pn September 20th.
GA Reassessment

GA Sweeps: On Hold
As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing Sweeps to determine if the article should remain a Good article. I believe the article currently meets the majority of the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. However, in reviewing the article, I have found there are several issues that need to be addressed. I have already made minor corrections to the article, but have included issues below that I believe need to be addressed for the article to remain a GA.
Needs inline citations:
- "Even at this early stage in his career, he was embroiled in rap feuds associated with G-Unit, including those with Joe Budden, Ja Rule, Benzino and Memphis Bleek."
- "The Game responded on his website, saying that if Suge Knight had ever touched him, he would be "six feet under"."
- "The Game stated on his Black Wall Street website that he dislikes Suge Knight because of "the lives he has endangered"."
- "Although Suge Knight did not attend, he and The Game declared their feud over."
- "On the single "Westside Story", The Game raps that "I don't do button-up shirts or drive maybachs", which was perceived as being directed towards Jay-Z, though The Game stated it was directed toward Ja Rule."
- "During his U.S. LAX Tour in late 2008, The Game first announced plans on a new album, dismissing earlier reports that LAX was supposed to be his last album: "I'm not gonna' lie to y'all, I'm in the studio secretly working on my fourth album.""
- "A portion of the proceeds of the shoe are donated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina."
- "He has posted a video on YouTube inviting fellow online players to play him in Madden NFL 09, and to "Get your ass whipped.""
- The entire awards section is unsourced.
Other issues:
- The lead needs to be expanded to better summarize the article. Try and touch on each section mentioned in the article. See WP:LEAD for guidelines.
- "It was then that he started fully embracing street life and turned towards selling drugs and gang banging." Explain "street life", as readers unaware of the topic may not know what it is. Add a relevant wikilink if possible, as well as for "gang banging".
- "On The Game's album Doctor's Advocate, he says the beef is over on a few of the songs." Reword "beef", or if it is a direct quote, then add quotation marks. Fix the other occurrences in the following sections.
- "In an interview Young Buck said he was aware of The Game's support and said that is real love because Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo did not reached out to him." Reword, but if quote, again add quotation marks.
- "He is also working on getting his own label, The Black Wall Street Records, signed to a distribution label." Has this already occurred, or is this still ongoing?
- "The two later tried to bury the hatchet due to a personal friend and even recorded a song together named "Peace"." Reword "bury the hatchet".
- "On February 5, 2009, he Game, who 50 Cent has a long-standing "beef" with, called up Seattle's KUBE 93 Radio Station. When asked about the beef between 50 Cent and Rick Ross, The Game sided with 50 Cent and said that things are not looking good for Rick Ross. However, he offered to help Rick Ross get out of this situation, stating "Rick Ross, holla at your boy, man," and, "50 eating you, boy."" This would benefit from being reworded.
- "He recently stated that his upcoming album would be called The R.E.D. Album." Clarify when "recently" was.
- "In 2006, he made his film debut in Waist Deep as a character named "Big Meat" and has been filming at least two more movies." What other two movies?
- "In August 2007, The Game and an entourage of 12 including Omarion performed a concert in Luanda, Angola with two dates on August 11 and August 12 at the Atlantico Cinema produced by Casa Blanca company." Single sentences shouldn't stand alone. Either expand on this statement or incorporate into another paragraph.
- "The Game announced that he was engaged to actress and model Valeisha Butterfield, the daughter of U.S. Congressman G. K. Butterfield." When was this announced?
- "The five officers involved in the incident ended up suing The Game for defamation,[63] which has yet to be taken to court." Any updates on this?
- Some of the inline citations are improperly formatted, lacking title, author, date, access date, etc. Fix all occurrences. I don't believe that Twitter is considered a reliable source, so replace it if possible. If there's somewhere here that points out that Twitter is a RS, please point me to the discussion.
- There are a few dead links that need to be fixed. Use the Internet Archive to help you fix them.
If the above issue is addressed, I believe the article can remain a GA. I will leave the article on hold for seven days, but if progress is being made and an extension is needed, one may be given. If no progress is made, the article may be delisted, which then can later be renominated at WP:GAN. I will contact the main contributors of the article and its related WikiProjects to ease the workload. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 22:30, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
GA Sweeps: Delisted
Unfortunately,I since none of the issues were fixed, I have regrettably delisted the article according to the requirements of the GA criteria. If the remaining issues are fixed, consider renominating the article at WP:GAN. With a little work, especially with a collaboration among the multiple WikiProjects, it should have no problems getting back up to GA status. If you disagree with this review, you can seek an alternate opinion at Good article reassessment. If you have any questions let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I have updated the article history to reflect this review. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 06:39, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
50 BEEF DEAD?!?
Game says the beef is dead!!! Blsupr (talk) 20:31, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Game Wants To Apologize To 50 Cent (Ends Beef)
Game says that he now wants to not only "apologize to 50 as a man," but also to his fans, Dr. Dre, Eminem and the head of Interscope Records, Jimmy Iovine. "Jimmy always says, ‘Man, I told you guys not to break up the Beatles,’” Game says. "He says he told John Lennon the same thing a long time ago. But I was young, man. I was dumb. I did a lot of dumb things. I felt me and 50 clashed. I’m not gonna dis 50. I’m not gonna go back on the plane. He had his side, I had my side. I did what I felt was necessary for me and my career to have longevity and survive in hip-hop and music to be around when I’m Quincy Jones’ age — not just be Quincy Jones’ age, but be a Quincy Jones. Now, four albums in, I can honestly say from Banks to Buck to Dre to Yayo to whoever, if it would have kept going, endless paper. Millions of albums sold — because we were great together. Me and 50’s chemistry was like how Method Man was to Redman when they get in. You know when Method Man gets with Redman, it’s going down."
Game continued by comparing the situation to others. "It is what KRS-One was with Scott La Rock," he added, describing his time with 50. "When you take Ralph Tresvant from New Edition and Bobby Brown goes this way, you might get a Bell Biv DeVoe, but you won’t get no ‘Candy Girl.’ You won’t get no ‘Mr. Telephone Man.’ You ain’t gonna get no ‘Hate It or Love It,’ you won’t get ‘How We Do.’ As a family, we had it. If we never [broke] up, I think Detox would have been out and we all would have been selling millions from Banks to Buck, Tony Yayo. I’m gonna apologize for my role." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.3.47.197 (talk) 20:25, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Legal issues
In the Snoop Dogg article, there's a mention of the Game assaulting a fan, here's the paragraph about it:
Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, and The Game were sued for assaulting a fan on stage at a May 2005 concert at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Washington. The accuser, Richard Monroe, Jr., claimed he was beaten by the artists' entourage while mounting the stage. He alleged that he reacted to an "open invite" to come on stage. Before he could, Snoop’s bodyguards grabbed him and he was beaten unconscious by crewmembers, including the rapper and producer Soopafly; Snoop and The Game were included in the suit for not intervening. The lawsuit focuses on a pecuniary claim of $22 million in punitive and compensatory damages, battery, negligence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The concerned parties appeared in court in April 2009.
Should this be included in 'Legal issues', as this is where its addressed at the Snoop page, or is it already in the article under another section? --Scythre (talk) 11:50, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
The caption next to The Game's mugshot reads, "Mug shot of Game taken on March 2008." It should say, "Mug shot of Game taken in March 2008." Using "ON" when referring to a point in time only works if there is a specific date there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.41.125.72 (talk) 21:01, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
NO MENTION OF THE SHOOTING?
He got shot 6 or 7 times. Shouldnt it be at least MENTIONED in this article?
Yeah Game got shot 5 times in 2001 over a botched drug deal apparently. This used to be in the article but it's gone now, but it's pretty important I'm pretty sure Game has said it was the shooting that made him start rapping to get out of the street life. It mentions how he studied various rap artists, this was done in hospital recovering from the gunshots. I'm sure sources can be found for this he's spoken on it in many interviews maybe I'll find some links and post them here for whoever has the power to edit this? 20:15, 25 October 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.78.195.167 (talk)
I think a better citation for his getting shot five times execution style would be a newspaper article and not IMDB. I was under the impression that 'execution style' is in the back of the head. Even if that is in the front or side of the head I doubt he would recover so quickly or at all if shot FIVE times in the head.Mylittlezach (talk) 16:55, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
I did an online search and could not find any newspaper article about the shooting. All I found were blogs that say the same thing (PR stunt?). I did find one that did NOT describe it as execution and said he was shot in the arm, leg, heart and somewhere else.Mylittlezach (talk) 17:11, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Associated Acts?
Why isn't 50 Cent in his Associated acts? Sure, he doesn't work with him anymore, but they made some of Game's most popular songs. Also...Ja Rule and Rick Ross? Really? They really haven't done many songs together. Jayceon Taylor was featured in the Change of Heart show back in 1998 as this video displays it and it is also widely known, how come it is not included in the article?

The article now mentions it but implies he was on the show in 2000 "due to his fame", but he was a complete unknown at the time and did not appear as any sort of gangsta rapper at all.

US rapper The Game has been filmed leaning over a railing and spitting at a group of fans during a show on the Gold Coast
US rapper The Game has been filmed leaning over a railing and spitting at a group of fans during a show on the Gold Coast.
In the footage, the 32-year-old rapper can be seen sitting in the corner of the stage at the Bourbon Bar nightclub and looking bored while a group of girls try to get his attention.
He gets up and approaches the girls, before lurching forward and spitting towards them.
The spit can be seen flying through the air in the video.
When the camera pans over to the crowd, a girl who has apparently been spat on yells "how dare you" and storms out of the nightclub along with her friends.
Brydie McCreadie, 19, who filmed the video at the club on February 16 and sent it to ninemsn, said she was "disgusted" by the rapper's behaviour.
"I was like, 'whoa'. At first I wasn't sure if he was spitting at me," she said.
Ms McCreadie, from Southport, said she did not hear the girl next to her say anything to provoke The Game into spitting.
"He was sitting there drinking. We were all a bit drunk. I think they were just excited to see him," she said.
After the spit The Game is seen taking off his gold chain and passing it to members of his crew on stage.
"I think he was about to start a fight or look tough," Ms McCreadie said. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.144.158.138 (talk) 08:02, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
GAN Nomination
There are a few citation needed tags and dead links in this article that should have been taken care of before nominating the article. I would suggest fixing the {{cn}} tags at least soon or this could meat the quickfail criteria at Wikipedia:Reviewing good articles. AIRcorn (talk) 10:25, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

The logo in the name section
Not sure who did that (although it was presumably Maad Dogg 97); but I just love it, I actually think that all articles should do that (where applicable), I've already done it to Plan B. who else agrees? Kane (talk) 10:55, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
- Turns out it was User:Fijipeace who did it. Kane (talk) 11:03, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
Game uses the logo nearly everywhere his name is mentioned(albums, posters, website) its uncommon for artists to use the same logo in everything they do.I'm not sure about Plan B because the logo is not in any of their studio album. User:Fijipeace —Preceding undated comment added 23:38, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
Actually it is his official logo and has been used on his 1st studio album and his early mixtapes. Kane (talk) 07:28, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
My bad.Plan B is similar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.235.70.27 (talk) 07:37, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Move. Jafeluv (talk) 07:43, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
– Per WP:COMMONNAME, throughout his career he was primarily known as "The Game", with just a stretch from October 2009-2011, where he was primarily, but infrequently known as "Game". Starting with California Republic in early 2012 his album's and mixtapes begun including his name as "The Game" again, and have since including the one he just released. Recent sources now are split about 60/40 in favor of "The Game", but from 2003-2009 he was only known as "The Game", and at least since Jesus Piece all his albums/singles have billed him as "The Game" (All That (Lady) for example). Not to mention the previous requested move resulted in "no move", but it was still moved, and yet four years later his WP:COMMONNAME is still "The Game". - Support It's been on the cover of his most recent albums so that's good enough for me. Koala15 (talk) 00:35, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- Semisupport rename the discography article to The Game (rapper) discography , since a "The Game" discography would have oh so many meanings. This is the same problem with "Game" discography, only slightly reduced. The redirects should be deleted from "The Game" and "Game" leaving only "The Game (rapper) discography" and "Game (rapper) discography" -- 76.65.131.217 (talk) 04:31, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- There is nothing on Wikipedia titled "The Game" that would need a discography, that is why it is Drake discography not Drake (rapper) discography, so "The Game discography" would be the correct title.STATic message me! 04:46, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- Agreed. This is a CfD convention, but it's unsightly and should be avoided in article titles. --BDD (talk) 18:18, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
- Support as proposed. There is no (notable) rapper who does by the name "Game". 172.56.21.69 (talk) 02:30, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Associated Acts
I don't see WC, Ice Cube, Nate Dogg, Will.i.am, Xzibit & Junior Reed in the associated acts when they should be part of the list because there are tracks with them and Game — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigbrando98 (talk • contribs) 05:48, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

The article has a good infoboxes and is well referenced. The information is a little scattered, but the quality still remains intact and is well written (ie. doesn't use slang, setence structure is good). There is a serious problem with users (usually anon users) adding info that is irrelevent, not sourced, wrong, or just flat out vandalism. Most of the article seems to be too focused on The Game's controversies (many of which is irrelevent at this point in his career), and more general biographical material is needed. There is no info/analysis of The Game's rap style which is always a good thing to have in a well written article about a musican.--Ted87 21:03, 1 November 2006 (UTC) Passing the requirements and criteria and nomination process, this article has been rated as a Good Article. --Ted87 19:00, 1 February 2007 (UTC) |
